are six packs hard to keep tuned

other than gas mileage, what are the downfalls of having a six pack?.... ive heard they are hard to keep tuned, but that wasnt from anyone i would consider a reliable source. i have a chance to buy a setup, for the right price, but i want to know what im getting into. i will most likely buy it anyway, cuz the price is right. but i am not sure if i will use it or not.

and do i need special heads to run the setup?

Tuning can be a little tricky but once you get it right you should have no more problems.I ran my bird for 9years and never had to touch them.Took them apart 5 years ago,had everything re-plated,put them back together and still runs like before.Biggest problem with 6pk is trying to make them better,they work pretty good if left alone.They all worked when new.
