I just had a cheap aftermarket ECU crap out on me, who makes a good one? (It was "all they had in stock" when I got it) I put my old one on after doing a volt check off the top of the transistor and getting "0" reading and it fired right up. I've been hearing the orange Mopar's have crapped out too soooo...? I have a new Mopar dist. and a basic conversion with an Accel Super Coil and have had no issues in years, the POS is going back to Advance Auto Parts. NAPA maybe? I'm worried about reliability. (Always have a back-up!) By the way daily driver, 70 440 Charger not that it matters much.

I've had an orange box in my 69 going on 8 years with no problems.

The one I "replaced" and put back on today is 15 years old! (But I have no idea who makes a "good one now") The orange ones were fairly new that were crapping out I read here. (?) Any still made in USA?

has been told FBO ECU box is the most reliable option for the money... I will mount pretty soon

Standard Motor Parts LX101 has a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty I found. I did a search and saw you got the FBO Nacho. That would be my first choice but for me to add 6 pack coil coil bracket, coil strap, harness plug, and FBO A688 kit I would be over 200.00. It would be "sweet" but it's not in the budget YET! (I am looking forward to your posting on this set-up as I know you will give it a through testing and review.)  :2thumbs:

borg warner offers one with a lifetime warranty from O'Reilly's.  It's a OE piece.  MSD is good, but they are not waterproof, so be careful if you wash under your hood.

Thanks for responding gang! I found out the one that crapped out on me is the cheap blue BW that Advance sells, 26.00. The BW stands for Borg Warner (duh) and they own Standard Motor Parts now. The LX101 directly crossed to CBE14 in Borg Warner on their shared web sight so I upgraded my return to it. Since the plan has been to change out the coil later when I can afford the correct 6 pack bracket, coil clamp and a new engine wire harness (to clean up the engine bay) I'll go with the FBO A688 set-up then and have the CBE14 for an emergency back-up stored in the trunk.  :scratchchin:
