Anybody has any tricks how to get the upper inner nut of for the brakebooster without special tools that I don't have or can make.
By removing the steeringcolum I could gain somewhat better acces but....... :eek2:

Sounds like the same issue I'm having with my new booster and the same part to.  :shruggy:

Try a 1/4" drive deep socket with a universal joint and a 24" extension.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Tried all the combinations of sockets and extension that I have but no luck, looks like that colum has to go anyway.

Can't say if you have to remove the column (mine was already out) but if I remember correctly I used a regular wrench (not a ratchet as it was too long). I had my seat removed and was lying on my back looking up.

Can't remember anymore but do you need to disconnect the pedal/boosterlinkage from inside or from the enginebay? :scratchchin:

Everything seemed so easy when the car was apart. ;)

If no one else chimes in I can check tomorrow after noon and let you know for sure. One thing for sure it was still hard to reach. I installed a new brake booster with a custom made bracket - and I installed the bolts the other way so that the nuts are in the engine bay - just because I didn't want to put on the nuts in the passenger compartment ;)

The original nuts are lock nuts making removal even more painful. I replaced them with flat washers, lock washers and regular nuts.

I took the instrument cluster out and used a long extention to get to it. Unbolt the lower pivot point on the bell crank linkage, and the bolt that holds the linkage to the pedal. Then remove the linkage with the booster from the firewall side.
