So, what do you guys think of this? Audi R8. 500HP(not sure of exact #). $180k. An absolutely stunning car, in person. I've never liked Audi, but this car, IMO, is incredible.

Now, aside from the fact that it's not "American Muscle", if you guys had the $$ to buy a toy like this, would you?

ZSmithersCharges

Like that maybe but I would probably get a ZR1.  Same price range more muscle not as sleak looking though by a long shot.

mikepmcs

I'd drive it no problem. But if I had that kind of money, I probably wouldn't buy that car over some others I've wanted if that makes sense.
Wicked nice ride though, fo sho!

What kind of music was in that CD case is what I want to know.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Agreed. The ZR1 is an ANIMAL. When he asked me to come by and take pictures of this car I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did.

Cooter

Sorry, but for MY $180K, it better come with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a back yard, and maybe a pool....

Yeah Audi did a really nice job on the design of the car.  I won't even lie I was excited when it came out because I knew about it.  Then a lot of nice cars came out at the exact same time though and kind of clouded the RS8 out.  They tried to up it from a v8 to a v10 to get the hype back but I don't know that it worked.

I just relized the ZR1 is actually 70 grand cheaper!   Not even the same price but still more power.  I know power isn't everything, but its close!

The fact that it's not "American made" counts for a lot. It is a cool looking ride but I'm pretty conservative when it comes to anything other than my Chargers or the farm. And like Cooter said I wouldn't spend that much money on it without having at least one or two bedrooms.

I'd never spend that much on a car...  nor could I  :'(

But I figure for $180K,   I'd just as soon spend a bit more money that I don't have on a Lamborghini Gallardo and have something that actually looked HOT with the essentially the same V10.

What does it count for? If I could afford to spend that much money on a car, then a european sports car would be top of the list!
Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot!

I recently saw one of those pulled over on the shoulder of the freeway getting ticketed by a cop in an unmarked cruiser... about a hundred yards behind it was a brand new Vette being written up by another cop only in a marked car.  I can only imagine how the incident went down but my guess would be that it was a great tale in the making before the police showed up.

If I were Tony Stark I'd buy one.
:smilielol: :iagree: Also, one of every other car in the world to go with it.  It will be Tony's Arc.  Screw the creatures, save the cars.

Mike DC

Looks cool but I wouldn't buy one.

I just wouldn't drop $180K on any modern car, period.

In my opinion it counts for a lot. Without getting into another whole political arguement, if I'm going to spend that kind of money on anything I want it to benefit people here, and if I bought one of those the only one that benefits is the dealership. Just like buying a honda or toyota, Even though they might make them here the money still goes to japan. I won't have another foreign car in the driveway just like I won't stop at an Exxon or mobil gas station.

To be fair, I'm sure it is a fine automobile and would be a lot of fun to drive. It's just not something I'd buy.

If that was in ON than I would figure the tow trucks wouldn't be far behind - no?   :shruggy:

Ghoste

I would imagine.  It was on the 401 not too far from your part of the world.
