The Dodge Truck forum and a few others are like that.  It's a way of paying for the site I'm sure.

Chris G.

They're averaging 30 to 40 people on line at once. That's not bad for a car that isn't even built yet...for the public that is.  :shruggy:

THAT'S AMAZING!! :o

I did notice that for as much traffic as that site has, it's only got 34 threads on the whole site. I guess they don't have much else to talk about. :icon_smile_big:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

So they're talking about the Challenger and we're talking about them, or gay movies, or Target boycotts, or how long one has been on this site for, or Christmas lights, or why the chicks don't hang out here, or Tooky getting fried, or new Pepsi cans, or Jesse, or ^>< games, or 5 word stories, or.......   :smilielol:

Doesn't necissarily mean anything.  Most cars experiance a jump in sales over the previous year, after a redesign.  Partly due to the fact that people hear about the redesign, through media sources, so they decide to wait a year to buy the car, instead of buying now.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Really? Do most cars experience a 47% increase? Just wondering.

In the case of the Mustang it might also have something to do with the fact that none of the special models were available in the first year. They did release the convertible a little early (supposed to be an 06 model release). They probably did this to cash in on the summer weather but I haven't really studied it too much.

my only problem with the retro cars is that from a design standpoint, where do they go from there? Whats the next Mustang gonna look like? A modern version of this?:

I do like the new Chally, though in my humble opinion the lines need to be refined a little more.

im sure glad that i aint the only one who thought the same thing..... :iagree: :iagree: :iagree: :iagree:

Most cases, no, not that high.  Which says something about how popular the new redesign is.  But my point still stands.

I beleive troys point was simply this. Where did you hear that most cars had a increase of sales over the previous year? Last time i checked car designs were changed because sales sucked! Henry Ford originally reluctantly changed his design from the model T's extremely long production run because they didnt sell. Other companies started using more colors and had less boxy designs, so sales suffered and the design had to change.

Do you look this stuff up and just get terrible information? or just pull it out of the air somewhere????

you know i honestly never thought about that, but you are right.  where do they go from there?  They have two options, follow the past or make a new future.  hopefully it will be the latter (i know it will be).  But by going retro, they do put some limitations on future designing.

Re: Dodge Challenger Design Chief Speaks Out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes - we need to let DCX know so that they will bring this car back! I own a Daytona, but have wanted a Challenger or Cuda for years. If they do the Challenger right, it may impact the sales that Charger is now enjoying.

As much as I love my Charger - If they do anywhere close to the same quality job on the Challenger, I'd trade in a heartbeat. It would be nice if they included even more of the muscle car features as standard (read BIG Hemi!)

I didn't go for the SRT8, because I was rationalizing this great 4-door as more of a family car. (And I couldn't wait!) The (2 door), beefier Challenger would hopefully be an even stronger contender against the Ford and Chevy products.

I don't want another Mustang, Camaro, Vette, etc. I've had several over the years. The Charger is so close (even good enough!), but that Challenger concept car! Even a new Camaro would be more of what we've had for around 40 years. You bump into them all the time.

When was the last time you drove by a Charger? (Before 2005..)

A new and improved Challenger - with lessons learned from the very cool Charger? Count me in!

Anybody read this guys post? wtf kinda stuff is he smoking.

Hehehe...well, it looks like there's some more teasing going on with the Challenger's looks, just like there was with the Charger. The first prototype pics we were given (orange car) were of a nice mouthwatering retro looking car any one of would be proud to drive...now, what do you make of THIS!?! :puke:
