This shows up as a 440 head for '68.  What's special about this head?  One year and 440 only, whereas the 2843906 is '68-'70, 383 and 440.

It's identical to a 906 head....open chamber early 1968 only casting.

A friend of mine had a set of these 250 heads he came across in a swap deal awhile back, I had never seen these before but they looked like to me more like a 516 casting style ports but had an open chamber like the 906's, kind of a strange looking head.

Kind of the least desirables of both heads but they can also be made to work if need be.

I have a set of these and kept them because they decoded as 68 383-440 heads. They came off a 68 383 truck engine.
I have never set them aside a set of 906s to compare - I'll have to fish them out and take a look.
