I got my original rechromed for about 100 bucks.  this is a piece that is always restorable unless the car was taco'd in the rear.

Those aren't chrome - they're stainless - which is why they tend to survive. I think I paid $25 for the last one I bought and it was already polished. The side pieces and the 2 little ones under the taillights are chromed pot metal and they're almost always nasty.

I know I got something rechromed back there lol... yes the little pieces..but also the C shaped pieces.  could have sworn that long bottom piece was pot metal...  and the top straight one is definitely stainless... oh well

if you ask the wives/girlfriends, it's a conspiracy...  any excuse to drive the car.  I just took mine on the easter beer run.  my brotherinlaws came over and drank more than I thought.  oh the humanity!
