Badges of honor on the street

I think that "badges of honor" on muscle cars really took off in the 60s, but even before that you occasionally saw a trim piece on a fender or a decal under a hood that told you that you might have a long day.
If you were dumb enough to disregard the badge of honor.

Yes we know it's spam for his website, however the posts are interesting which is more than I can say for a lot of our own recently.
I'll play.

I used to ride around in my buddy's '68 Camaro, with a home-brewed 302 (why smaller I'll never understand) which was very healthy. We pulled up alongside an early-'60s Biscayne or Impala or Whatever-big-Chevy it was. Nice car. Of course, my buddy street raced like a dog in heat, so he gives the guy the pedal and gets his ass handed back to him by the next light (for those familiar with Downriver Detroit, I think this was Sibley Rd.)
Then we see this at the next stop-

Lesson Learned.
Props to http://www.pbase.com/kjosker/fender_badges for the photo, and  :2thumbs: to mystar for the thread.

Just for you elacruze, not spam-boy.

My dad loved his Buick Electra and his Pontiac GTO. But when he saw a certain badge he didn't bother racing. The Oldsmobile Rocket 88.

I love my Hemi but if I cheated it would be with a Rocket 88. :yesnod:

Yeah, the Spam gets my goat a little, but I'll take the good and ignore, since I'm not required to spend time on his site.

I have a real soft spot for Oldsmobiles and Buicks. The first car I can remember of my Grandmother's was a '67 Buick Skylark. Don't know what it had for an engine, but I loved it.
I had plans at one point to build a rail job with a Nailhead/4 speed, but never followed through. It's still in my head somewhere.

Not related to this thread but an uncovered memory is my Mother's '69 Ford Squire 428CJ Station Wagon with shaker hood.
Dammit man, it was a rust bucket even by the time it disappeared, but how many could they have made?

To me a badge of honor is more like the little dent in my front bumper it got smacking into the ass of a 67 GTO about 30 years ago, the goat is long gone but my Chargers still pumping out miles doing the daily driver drill, this after an 8 year tour of duty kicking ass at the local race track to boot.
