i  bought the billet aluminum 500 wheels for $400 each from newstalgia wheel . after 200 miles i notice the black paint peels off.
i called newstalgia wheel and told me to contact wheel vintiques.
i called wheel vintiques and they told me there is nothing they can do...and they sent me a FLAT BLACK SPRAY CAN!!!!!!!!!
i spent $1600 for the wheels. i found a place to repair the wheels for  $125 each
i will post pictures soon.

after 200 miles
what would you do?

Just curious: 200 miles in one day, one month, one year?

While I sympathize, here's the reality check: the seller and manufacturer won't back their product and would claim you drove thru an acid wash mud pit EPA site hell hole and you therefore caused the paint failure. So I think you try a negotiation. Maybe a refund of 50%.

Since that is dreaming, you then have to:
1) park the car and wheels in front of the shop
2) have all bikini clad babes walking around carrying signs that say "THIS SELLER SUCKS, DON'T BUY THEIR JUNK, AND HERE'S THE LIVING PROOF"
3) prepare a statement for the newspaper and TV folks who you sent an advance notice of protest to (you want them there on the sunny Saturday morning when the protest starts)
4) maybe the seller will pay you to go away at that point. :icon_smile_angry:

Here's hoping something good comes out of this mess. :popcrn:

what would you do?

I would;

1. Strip the remaining paint.
2. Prep the wheels for new paint
3. Paint the wheels with the paint they sent
4. Drive until they need it again. Then consider powdercoating.

Those wheels are WAY too expensive to have to deal with a problem like that.

$400 a pop and they spray paint them?   Glad I'm not with the mag 500 me too! club.

I just had one of the wheels on my GC 5.9 fixed after the previous "flipper" got brake fluid all over the wheel changing a caliper.   It was $80.   Argent powdercoat.

the problem is that, if i fix the wheels for $500 i will keep advertising their wheel....
if i get new wheels, i wasted a lot of money on the old ones.

Aren't those wheels pretty heavy?
Sucks you have to make it right. At least you have the opportunity to use a custom color... like a gun-metal or something. Try to be polite and you might get some swag. Either way, anytime anyone asks you about your wheels just tell em....
