The column must be lowered some to get it out, if you have air that stuff is kinda in the way to get to the back, anyway you pick it will be a bit of a pain in the neck!  :scratchchin:

, remove the clock  with the gauge cluster in is easy , just 3 hex head screws  that  take 1/4 inch scoket or wrench from memory , disconect the orange wire for the light  & gray  clock power & remove the clock adjusting knob buy using a tiny screw driver to undo the tiny grub screw in the center on the knob,
but fitting the tick toc tack , might be tricky , its a lot bigger than the clock ,  don't think it will fit , need to lower the steering column ! as i had to remove mine one time after putting mine back togeather ! , seem to remember cursing as i had to take the whole lot out , but i could be getting mixed up as that was about 6 years back :popcrn:

I found removing the dash pod easy to change any gauges.  Drop the steering column, remove the dash screws and slide it out from the left side as you reach in and up plug wires hoses etc, and move the dash out further and further.  It's scary at first but not hard overall. Make sure you lay a towel down as the dash will chip and cut the steering collar paint.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Yesterday i took out a tic toc tac & fitted a standard clock, was a non air 70 Road runner with the under the dash vent pot missing. So i done it from underneath without taking out the dash. (was a race car & i couldnt get the dash out so i had to do it this way) Whole job took about an hour.
Would have been easier to take dash out.

I have been able to get into the clock/tach without problems below the dash on a buddy's 70. No need to loose anything. Some tricky but "doable"
