What do you LOVE most about your Cars?..

I was thinking about this a bit recently and thought it might be fun to read about what makes your Car/s special to you..
After all, I don't think we would be here If we were not certified Car Nuts.  :shruggy:

I know we'll get some silly obvious one liners then others will come back later to expound upon their travails and tribulations in more detail...
Maybe you only have one car and your 15, or maybe you've had dozens over the years...
Great! Feel free to come back and elaborate at your convenience as the mood strikes.

My Charger the purple/blue once black, once Med. Bronze Job to your left...

Has been a great many things to me over the years. Most recently It's been totally reliable with with no mechanical maladies other then a curious vibration caused by worn tires a loose flex plate and both of these easily cured troubles were quickly fixed, going back further about ten years now,.. there was an engine fire caused by a leaky (Chevy) Carb. which I blew out in an act of total desperation  :eek2: and around that same time - the stock type starter went south,.. these pieces have now replaced with a Holly 770 street avenger and a Mini Starter wrapped in heat shield material.
So, considering how hard I drive this old dog eared Veteran and in what difficult traffic It's earned my loyalty and whatever she needs. I don't baby This Charger, worry about pulling her out of the garage after three Mos. of sitting and after a simple warm up and ten minute wash, driving the living snot out of her.
And,.. She's out lived about a dozen Girl Friends.  :2thumbs:

Pics of your Baby appreciated!  :icon_smile_wink:

The big thing for me is every car I have owned has been a project.  I have transformed what many people thought to be crap into cars I am proud of and that turn heads.  I just sold my 68 (my first attempt at body work and paint)  and bought my first ever turn key car.  That in its self is interesting, since I have probably advised thousands of people to buy there car as done as they possibly can.  So I think mine are special to me because I know what has gone into them.  My new Daytona Clone will be special because I know Larry (hotrod98) is doing it right and I could not have built that car for what I paid.  So I guess after many years I have Finlay taken my own advise

Well In the case of my '70 Charger converted to a '69 GL, I'd have to say that for the first 30 years I wanted one, I couldn't afford one.. Now, I love the attention it gets, as well as the memories it "restores" in peoples minds when it takes them back to a simpler time when people were "real"...

In the case of my '68 dart, well it serves another purpose altogether.
Self explanatory..

As for "CHRISTINE" well, I love the same things about her as the GL..

The number one reason I love my car the most is how she looks.

Now, I could write a long essay on the other 99 items that I love about her but lets leave that for another thread that you'll start.

Oh, and I will need the names and hair color of those dozen or so girlfriends that your true love has outlasted.... :scratchchin:

The Charger beeing the first car ever I restored makes it the reason why I love it compared to the other 50-60 cars I have owned. Have had cars with
special memorys and happenings, great looking but nothing compares to the feeling of having built it yourself. :yesnod:

Lets see...      my 68 Charger was my first car that I bought when I was 15...    been working on it since and finally am close to what I consider her being done...     I like her because she has been with me through a lot so far and continues to just sit there - but mostly it is the memories of driving it around in high school with my best friend Amanda - back when life was simple

1969 Road Runner = Always liked the B-body body style and this was something I always wanted - other than that she has been a complete b!tch to work on and has faught every step of the way -- she'll be stipped down to nothing and have a built 383 and a 4-speed with 4.10 gears...     I plan on using her for just a mess around town car - probably be in primer for years to come but so what...

1966 Satellite = always wanted a convertible muscle car and here it is - the perfect car for southern california...    cruise the beach with the top down and a cute girl on your arm...      haven't done much to this one yet but the only reason I like it is the simplicity of the project - it is a running car as is - as soon as i do the brakes it'll be completely operational and drivable...    which is what i'm excited about - actually DRIVING one of my mopars (havent driven on of my own in almost 6 years)

1966 Chevelle = cheap and easy to work on - budget oriented vehicle that has little capitol invested -  has served well for 9 years in the family (brother's car but i maintain it) - looks decent - sounds decent - and is a perfect car for someone who wants the experience of driving a muscle car without all the work,

My 69 charger for it's design overall.  My Honda Pilot for it's great quality.  My 98 Pontiac transport for it's good quality.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

First, is the overall design and then the sense of accomplishment from building her from scratch, Driving her for the first time. I don't have too many road stories yet.

When I was a kid I loved Road Runners.  One Day I saw a Bee and loved the tail stripe.  Upon closer inspection I fell in love with the 1/4 panel lines.  They just look really cool to me!

Yeah, the lines on a 69 Coronet and Charger, especially the rear quarter panel blending into the roof and door lines define the term muscle car, and i think the 69 Coronet grills are one of the meanest looking front ends ever put on a car.  The 70 Coronet comes in close.  I love that Pro Touring Coronet, dont remember where i saw the picture, its around somewhere, that silver (i think) Coronet sitting in the middle of a country road.

! cars well dont give any thought to daily drivers ! just get you from a to b !
but  why i love my charger , because i have wanted one since i was 5 , saw it in DMCL , think its the most beautiful shaped car  that has  or will ever be made , the body lines , the curves  ! its just perfect !!  i can still sit in the garage , after owning it more than 20 years & just look at it :drool5: , & when you open the door the smell  , the feel of the car as you sit in &  then crank the motor !! the sound as the motor fires , & idles away !! slide the shifter down into drive , relese the emergency brake ! & ease down on the gas !   :yesnod:   :icon_smile_approve:  man i love these cars !!  :coolgleamA:

Classic lines.
Old cars were a work of art. (Pure Class)

Todays cars just look like Insects to me.

That has to be the coolest car picture ever.  It looks like a cool Hot Wheel toy. Awesome. :drool5:

Supercharged Riot

I've always been in love with the coke bottle shape..
Every angle of the car is beautiful no matter what angle you look at it.

I consider it a piece of art sitting on 4 wheels

I also have a thing for vintage stuff.
In my opinion, I like classic cars because, you can never get tired of them vs buying a newer car.

I tkae consideration about what kind of cars I get because I dont want to buy something Ill get tired of in a couple years
Im an old fashioned kind of guy even though Im relatively young.

i love the personality of the b body 68-70. the way they drive and handle. they way they start. the sounds of the turn signals. the way everything is set up.  the way you can drive 70mph in a charger with the drivers window down and still lite a smoke with a match.

With the complexities of my life-wife, young kids, job etc. etc. etc., I don't get to go on vacations, but when I drive my cars, that 30 minutes + is like being on vacation. I can totally relax, unwind and enjoy my time.
