4 dings & a gash is going to cost my jack-ass roofing contractor $650+ to repair.   This is after today's third attempt to repair a leak around my chimney after I had a new roof put on by them  :flame:
Dont let me get started on my garage problems either.....

Know the feeling. In the middle of building a new house and wonder if some of subs recruit at the zoo. ::)

No consolation but at least it wasn't the Charger.  :shruggy:

That blows! I got one question though.... how are they repairing that and blending the roof for just $650?  I would think getting to that gash at the edge would entail removal of that panel/rear window??  Regardless, it has to be painted obviously and then cleared and that shit ain't cheap.  Are they gonna go PDR onthe roof or conventional body work.  I'm just talking the other dings, not the edge gash....that's getting a skim coat after some dolly lovin.

Sorry for the troubles Chris.  If it's any consolation.  A kid threw a rock a few months ago and there is a ding in the roof of my Challenger.  I can't even stand to look at the car.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

WOW knowing the problems you've been having with this guy I'm speechless!!!!  What was the first thing he said to you??? It better have started something like "I'm a total a-hole and I can't believe I've just screwed you again"...

Just 6T9 CHGR

The rear window raises with the hatch so there is plenty of room for a bit of filler.
The other ones (at least 2 of the 4) could be gotten out with PDR.   Believe it or not they only upped the orig $550 estimate another $100 to remove the Satellite antenna (which will require the headliner to be dropped)

I guess if there is going to be a ding & panel repair its best on the roof where you wont see it as much :rotz:  (trying to make myself feel better)

You can see the scratch in the glass in this angle.....cant imagine the bill if that rear hatch shattered  :o

Ha nope...true to form his boss wouldn't pick up his phone for me or even to his guy (until the 3rd try from him)....right to voice mail!!

I really screwed up in many ways picking this guy....in hindsight should have spent the extra coin & gone with the higher estimate!!

Wow, your lucky that didn't hit one of your girls. I've been in construction now for 25 years, stuff like that happens to even the best crews, more so in the winter, cold hands, wet slippery tools. However the third attempt at fixing the same leak. ouch.

My wife wound up slamming the garage to house door and a 68 Coronet hood spring fell off the shelf, bounced on my work bench and did a 90 degree onto the roof of the van.... WTF.............. Luckily, it landed flat so no dents or dings, just a small area need to touch up with some paint.  This was her story by the way!  No idea :shruggy:

What a complete tool.  :brickwall: :brickwall:
(pun intended)

Chris, from the looks of things it doesn't look like it can go PDR due to the paint damage. Conventional repair seems to be the only way.
If the glass is scratched, he's obligated to replace it, too.

I can't believe the luck you've had with this shithook. Hope it all works out for you in the end...

Ouch, that sucks.  Still leaking sucks more.  I just ripped out all my bathroom walls, the tile/concrete, and trim and had a buddy tape and compound the walls, and his buddy re tile the floor.  The whole job SUCKS!  He was to come over tonight, nope.  No one came.  I'll call him tomorrow and ask my total and tell him I have someone else to finish it up.  In other words, thanks but no thanks.  I also tried to save a buck and regret it.  No dents on the Honda pilot though.  Your Honda is beautiful, I feel your pain.  Idiots.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

This is why I ended up doing a lot of the work on my house on my own. When I hired a contractor to do the stuff I didn't have time to do (frame up and weather tight the addition) I made sure I was on him about how I wanted things done. I guess I got lucky as I was happy with all of his work. Don't get me started on Plumbers though!
