Well the US Government was 79% of the June sales for GM, (ALL of GM) October is still here so we still have time for another record breaker!  :2thumbs:

Well you and the other GM fans want them possibly.  From what I hear, out of the millions of cars sold this year, your precious Volt numbers into the thousands.  Good work!
" As of July 2012[update], the fleet of plug-in electric vehicles in the United States is the largest in the world. More than 40,000 highway-capable plug-in electric cars have been sold since December 2010 through July 2012, with sales led by theChevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid with 18,663 units, followed by the Nissan Leaf all-electric car with 13,236 units, and the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid with 5,021 units sold.[64] As of July 2012[update], other plug-in electric drive motor vehicles available for sale in the country include the Smart ED, Wheego Whip, Fisker Karma, Mitsubishi i, BMW ActiveE, Ford Focus Electric, Coda sedan, Tesla Model S, Honda Fit EV and several models of neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs)."

Hey your right, electric cars will never take off in the US.  Oh lookie, The Volt you didn't think would ever sell is number 1 in sales.

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

well, yeah............. when the government buys thousands of its own vehicles to help push sales then naturally we would have the largest fleet in the world, i don't read that germany is buy thousands of electric vehicles since they don't have such a big stake in them.

if i grew tomatoes for sale, i would damn sure be eating tomatoes.................................. and telling everyone i came across what all the benifits were to eating tomatoes....................

Does it even qualify as an argument anymore?  It is amazing though that it took nearly two years of production and fleet sales to get it to numbers better than the other automotive green hype publicity choices.

The battery plant in Michigan that is supposed to be making the batteries for the Volts is laying off workers due to lack of demand.  This place got $150,000,000 in your tax money from the government...

That's a good days pay. Be sure to turn out the lights if you're the last one out.

Interesting article, and comments quoted by someone who is not a electric car supporter for sure.  From day one I said the Volt being electric but generator backed up is a cool idea and low or great sales from others doesn't change my mind. 100mpg epa is a great thing.  I understand all the hatred because of the government involvement though. I do believe the government gives money to other businesses.

Get ready for another Volt sale. I was servicing a elevator in a home today.  They own a Leaf and a Prius. They told me they heard nothing but good things about the Volt and were going to test drive one this week.  That's the Leaf charger in their garage.

The real funny story of this whole thing is this family with the Prius and leaf , and now looking at a Chevy Volt must be people concerned about the environment etc. Yet when I walked in the house nobody was home and pretty much every light in the house was on.

Yeah it's time for the government to leave AmTrak high and dry.  That transportation system hasn't made a penny in forever.
I think it's the highest subsidized transportation program there is.  I forget how much it gets from the gov. for every seat sold. Kind of makes it hard to kickstart the idea of a high-speed train like our American celebrity wants.

Just when you thought ( prayed and hoped )  the Volt thread was disappearing.

It's like you and ghost have a alert system going that if the Volt thread gets any post, BAM!  You guys are there.
Your government dollars hard at work.

My parrot just threw a fit.  I taught him how to use the computer.   He works the computer.  I just chime in.  He doesn't like Chevy's.  Besides, I'm done talking about the ----.  I don't even want to type it in.  I think all points have been made for it and against it.  Until something new about it comes to light, it's a nuissance.

Still have yet to see one in person.

Of course, I'm not really looking, either.
