Fabbing a low gear set from the A500 or A999 trans into the 727?

What work is involved in putting the low gear set 2.74/2.77 into the 727 trans can it be done without alot of reworking of parts? I see you can buy aftermarket sets for alot of coin but can it be done relatively inexpensive?
