I voted for the original color because it's unique(to me anyway)
My next choice would be Plum Crazy.  For the record, Plum Crazy will always be my choice..

Well I voted for the original colour.
My Charger started out as (yet another) GL clone candidate and whilst I love the colour, I sometimes wish I'd done a factory resto authentic to the fender tag.
Having said that though, I wouldn't have the big block that I love to drive.
Gotta love a '69

i go with the gold. that pic on the front page looks great.or be a little diff and put a hint of green with the gold to change the tone to a 1 off gold.

i voted for silver even though i'm a fan of the more rare colors (ones you don't see everyday)

66 mauve is just like yours, depending on the sunlight and/or camera angle it goes from silver to mauve to actual pink, sometimes it is frustrating as heck when you look at it and you see the shade you don't like.  this will not change over the next several years as you try to enjoy it, if you don't like it now you still won't like it later as it changes from day to day

now, having said that, yes, i'm still staying with the original color cause its part of my identity after 17 years (and I'm hoping the next paint job will look better somehow............)

do what YOU want, every car out there doesn't have to be painted the original color or even a color from that year or generation, its your car, do something you like

one more for original... I like more BRONZE but being gold the original one... hell, why not ?

I guess interior is black or tan, right ?

couple of my fav 69 color combo will be bronze with tan top and interior, and black with black top and tan interior...

I think I likes tan interiors LOL

I look forward to seeing it with fresh gold paint because my 69 r/t is the same color originally.

I'm in the original color camp too. Though if you did go with another color (up to you of course) I would stick with another 68 model year color.

I must say this pic of the 69 really highlights the body line. Never seen a pic that really shows it like that.  :drool5:

I'd go with the original color also. I know it's a big decision but as an earlier poster said get a couple of the high end paints made up and spay an old trunck lid and go with the best.Remember the tail stripe will bust it.Just add the hood callouts to ballance it out. This may be my dream car.lol

cheers

The next question is wheels!, what wheels would you go with? Chime in....

When was the car built again?

Took a quick look at that thread but was almost impossible to read that recall document.
What actually was the issue with those rims?

My vote would have been Y4, I know I'm late. :brickwall: Mine was a JJ1 and sometimes I regret that I didn't go that route but on the other hand
I then have a upcoming project for later on.

If i remember correctly the holes where the studs go thru would causes the lug nuts to work themselves loose.

of course that was original recall wheels, i'm sure the repops of the recall wheels wouldn't do that or they wouldn't sell them

Givin the "why do they do it" thread. This '69 R/T 55k actual mile, numbers matching, 6 way seat, AC auto Console car will most definitely be ORANGE! with a big honking 01 on the side and a larger than life confederate flag on the roof with a horn that whistles Dixie!  After all the General is all about fighting the system and they dont call it a rebel flag for nothin. Go Dukes! :nana:
