The wire next to the vacuum hoses - is that for a 4-speed?

This car was optioned with cruise control so as far as I know the tac wire which  has the wrong grommet in this pic went through the upper hole as the "normal" tac wire hole is used for  the cruise wires.
I now  have the correct grommet for the tac wire and it dose not fit the normal hole for the tac as the hole is to big.
There is also a wire harness bracket  that is mounted underneath the  heater nut next to the solenoid, and I have not seen that one before either.

Would you like to feel good about what your engine compartment looks like. This picture should do it for you. This is what ours looked like when we bought the car 3 years ago.

I think you may have had a oil leak,,, :icon_smile_blackeye:

Needa68

You're correct about the oil leak. Evidentially the car was driven for years with a bad oil leak. When we got it the engine had finally blown and then been let set for years. The interesting thing is all that oil preserved a lot of the sheet metal. Here is a picture of what that area of the firewall looks like today.
