Daniel..
If you show up in the Houston area.. Give me a shout, we'll go take a ride in that orange thing to the left of this.......

Troy
That would have been awesome!
But we're not going that far i'm afraid..

...Right now we're in Cambria, got a great room at some Inn i can't remember the name
of right now.
It's dark and raining here right now, so didn't get a very thorough look of the place.
But it looks kind of like a place where couples spend their weekends, so it feels somewhat
uncomfortable being two guys
  :smilielol:
Daniel

I'll bet you didn't even get a 2nd look. Remember, you are in the "Great Pink Triangle" now so be tolerant!

Of course I have my dash torn apart at the moment.  :brickwall:  Great planning, I know. Probably Mr. Samson is your best bet to getting a ride in a 2nd gen in the area. Any planned stops in Monterey on your way to the City? 17-mile drive in Carmel is a can't miss. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is also a must see. But, knowing your aggressive traveling time table it may not be possible.

Give a call when you get in!

Dan

We might drive by Carmel, depending on what time we'll pass there.
So far our time planning has been kind of optimistic, and it's starting
to catch up with us.

Hopefully we'll have time to visit the places we planned to visit atleast

Daniel

DanneP

So now we're in the outskirts of San Francisco, at last426's place.
It had gotten dark by the time we arrived, so i guess we'll just take
it easy tonight and then explore SF tomorrow.
I know i promised to call a couple of you guys when we arrived, but since it's
kinda late i'll wait until tomorrow to do that.

Daniel

I can picture Brock giving rides in the '69 and sliding all over the rain soaked streets of San Francisco. It should be fun.  :2thumbs:
(Just watch it when he "burps" the engine...that car likes to go sideways an awful lot.  )

Daniel, don't worries about calling me. It seems this weekend I am playing at being domesticated, with yard work, office work, and child raising. Is there also a football game going on? Just have a great time in the City and find your Mopar.

So today we took the grand tour of San Francisco, riding in a 69 Charger  :icon_smile_tongue:
What an awesome experience! I've never ridden in a muscle car before, so i had lots of fun!
I definitely know i want a Charger now!  :drool5:

So a huge thanks to Brock Samson for the ride around town, and also to last426 for letting
us stay there.
I'm constantly amazed at how generous people are to a couple of complete strangers.  :2thumbs:

So tomorrow the plan it to head out to Vegas.
Looked it up on Mapquest, and it seems we have a whole lot of driving to do  :eek2:
What's the best route SF to LV?

We're still looking for cars, so if anyone knows of any B-bodies for sale for around $10-15K, let me know.
Also a 77-78 Trans Am for $3-5K. Not for me though  ;)

Glad to hear you had a great time! Dave is a good guy.

The quickest way to get to Vegas is to get on Highway 5 south and follow the signs. It would help to get a map and google the directions, also.   Good luck on your Mopar search!

We definitely will!
But our Dodge Caravan sucked pretty bad after riding in the Charger  :icon_smile_big:

We arrived in Vegas last night around 2.
What an awesome place when it's dark!
Got a room at the MGM Grand and got some much needed sleep.

So i guess now we're off to some sightseeing.

Well, today i've been cruising around solo in Vegas, buying some cheap
souvenirs and stuff like that. Oh yeah, drove by Hoover Dam also. Cool place!
My friend has a nasty hangover, that's why i've been drivin solo  :icon_smile_big:

Yesterday was fun. Playing slots, having a few drinks, then on to a club
with a whole lotta girls who didn't have a whole lotta clothes  :2thumbs:

Anyways, we've given up on the plan to drive through Arizona, there's just
not enough time :(

Heading back to Los Angeles tomorrow to spend some time there before
we fly back home on saturday.

No Mopar for me though..  :'(

My friend bought a '78 Trans Am in Fontana, CA, so at least one of us found a car

I'll update tonight or tomorrow with some more pics.
Haven't had internet access the last couple of days, hence the lack of updates.

Our trip is soon over, we're in Chicago until tomorrow when our flight will take us to Frankfurt.
Lots of delays, so instead of arriving at home around noon sunday (local time), we'll get
there monday afternoon/night.

We're just in Chicago because of our flight route.
The plan was to fly LAX - Chicago, Chicago - Stockholm, Stockholm - Lulea.
But our flight along with almost everyone elses got delayed, so we have to
stay in Chicago over night, and then fly to Frankfurt tomorrow.
