Anyone care to bring me up to speed? What happened? Was my last post ill received or did it become a flame war?  :ahum:

Those guys still overpromising and undelivering huh? Well, let me know if my slice job works out or if I need to make some changes. in the meantime can you shoot me off an email listing the names of buttons you might need? I can make them all 143px wide and that way they will swap out without any noticeable difference.

Shakey

I posted an "opposite" thread titled "Look at These Losers" with some pictures of homeless folks.  Some took offense to it, actually everyone that saw it did, and rightfully so.  I honestly don't feel that way, despite the tittle of the thread and my name beside it, but I was just trying to prove a point.

I found it frustrating that when we all heard about a guy spending his own $10M the way he wanted to, some here felt the need to label him as selfish, greedy and foolish at the same time bringing his religious faith into the thread.  I thought to myself, I wonder what these folks (my fellow members) would think if someone here started to bash the poorest of the poor, the exact opposite of this fellow, and sure enough everyonee came to their defense.  How could you Shakey they said, in so many words.  The thread wasn't around long enough to get any major attention as all you West coast guys were still in the fart sack and it was kinda early in the AM.  I am pretty sure that Troy knew what I was doing and deleted both mine and the other thread, to save himself a world of grief.  That I can understand.

My experiment didn't really have a chance, which is fine as I probably knew the out come anyways.  The rich guys, the ones that have worked hard to build their wealth, are scolded for the way they spend their money and the less fortunate are sympathized with because of their position.  I think in North America we all have so many options available to us and some know how to put those resources to work and some don't.  It seems we tend to look down on the ones that do and pity the ones that don't.

I think in the end, there is a lot more to each and every story than we know about, yet we all, including myself, are quick to assertain the situation by simply reading an article from the media or by looking at at photograph.

BTW, this all took place prior to the second thread informing us all of how the $10M party guy is under investigation.  I am sure there is a lot more to this than meets the eye and truth be known, we will never know the full story, despite what some reporter might write.  Oh yeah, there are some real great posts in that thread also.

I was wondering to myself where that thread had went to..

Don't notice too many threads getting deleted, but have noticed a rash lately of people getting threads locked. Seems everytime a subject goes to a female, pictures start getting posted, and things are said, and there goes another  thread.

shakey,
at first when i seen your thread i was like "huh" and then I realized that you were trying to prove a point.  It was a risque approach that asks individuals [on this forum] to do a little self-reflection and I realized that, and agreed with your delivery.  Too bad others didnt see it the same way.  Could have been extremely educational tool for all of us.
