I gotta say that the 68 is by far my favorite year, and I've had more 3rd generations than anything,  But the styling of the first generation Charger can not be denied. That might have to be the next one I get.... But I'm working on buying another 3rd gen right now.

What's up with all the Marlins?  :nana: :slap:
OH boy... you sound like the Grill guy thats in the midwest. Always asking me how the marlin's coming...

learical1

My buddies and I use to torture Mark Hopper with the "hemi Marlin" jokes.  And that was before Chrysler bought AMC, so it was an even bigger insult then.  He took it pretty well.  Of course, having a 66 Hemi Charger and a 70 Hemi Cuda, he could be big about it and ignore the insults.

Because one of the biggest problems with these hideaway headlights is that they don't work after 40+ years....many items are involved in order for them to work, biggest issue is the motors are either frozen or burnt inside. Myself and other members of the 66-67 site can repair or supply updated parts to get them working again

Ghoste

AND, there is also an option with the 66 and 67 cars to leave the headlights exposed.  Very few people do it but we do have a switch on our dash that allows us to roll the headlight pods over to the exposed position and then turn the lamps off like an ordinary car. (another cool fastback feature)

The whole assembly rotates back and the headlights are on the back side of the "closed" grille.  That's why when they flip around to expose the headlights, it looks like a complete grille - there's no lid that lifts like other generations.  It's a real clean setup.

HITMAN 149

OK OK OK i just watched A383WING"s video's!!! NOW I GOT IT!!!!!  :2thumbs:
sorrry i was a bit slow!! hahaha the 1st gens headlights are done to match the grill when they are flipped... unlike my 68's!! so now it allll makes sence!!!! thanks guys!!!!!!

Wow, what a shame to sell that one.  Honestly I really like that green.  Red heater hoses, looks like Armstrong steering, lots of cool patina on that rig.

I had a friend who's son had a red '67 that I was offered first dibs on cause they knew I liked it.  I had just picked up a '69 Satellite, no room.  But I unfortunately watched as the car was sold/resold on Craigslist until it hit I think around $18k.  It had reached maybe over reached it's peak residual & found a home hopefully.
A 1st gen is one of those bucket list cars'.  We had a '67 Coronet 500 'vert that my wife still says was the most fun we had in a car.  Hands down no contest for the coolest back seat area, the Charger.

Ghoste

Good thread bump, I like the look of the yellow car against the mountains.

Hmm, how'd I miss this thread.
Oh well, 'ere ya go!

Ok... it's not mine (and neither is the girl) but it is the car that got me interested in Chargers.  It's the George Barris custom...."The Thunder Charger".
(Because of this Charger I have owned four '66 Chargers and my present '67)

1967 Charger (360,6-pak/Auto)
