Torsion Bar Twist and end numbers

I took the one torsion bar I had removed and started cleaning all the grease and road scale so I could paint it. I found numbers on both ends so I now have lost the front to back orientation as I thought maybe just one end had numbers.  One end is UVJ 781L and the other 781L 100.  There is also a very slight bow and you almost have to roll it to see it. One end has the hex aligned and the line with the other end as shown.  I still have to pull the other (RH) side before I drop the K frame so I don't have it to compare to right now.  Am I assuming correctly that this needs replacing too as it appears twisted too much   I'm replacing all the rest of the suspension but I thought the torsion, sway, and strut bars would be ok.  Stockman asked the same question I was wondering on this thread http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,51283.0.html and I'm like him and feel that it makes a difference front to rear as well as left/right.  It may be a moot point since the bar may need replacing anyway but which way would the numbers have gone?  The bars I have are about .92 but I'll get .96 to replace them with.   Anyone have an answer about the front to back issue as to which numbers are where and know a good price source for a new set? This is on a 70RR.

Got my new bars in today and learned a couple things.  What I thought was bar twist over time was actually how they're made.  New ones are just like that.  I wish someone had let me know and I could have saved $200 for awhile until later but at least my lack of knowledge and experience might answer someone else.  One of the new one from MP has slight bow too only not as much.  When you roll them on a rail,  the ends have little wobble to them.  I guess I thought they should have been perfectly straight--at least new anyways.  Last thing is that the end with the letter prefix like in the first post UVJ 781L is the end thats goes in the LCM.

I was helping a friend with his expidition. The torsion bars insert in the LCA not at the pivet point as on a Mopar (as they should) but about 3 inches toward the wheel. So as the suspension compresses the bar not only has to twist but bend. It is a spring so it seams to work for ford.

Would not worry over a slight bow on your t bar.  :Twocents: :Twocents:
