Big Sugar

Hi Kids:

Been having kind if a Shyte week, and found myself falling into a bit of a dark funk, (Happens every once and a while) Well I decided to go into work today , Just to be alone and work unbothered, I brought along my IPOD and soaked my Brain with a full assortment of GRADY,BIG SUGAR,STEELY DAN,JETHRO TULL, and a bit of STEVE MILLER....Battery died 5 hours in and there I was still in a bit of a funk. I called it a day and headed to my truck for the one hour ride home.
Nothing but Crap on the radio today so I flipped thru a few CD's I had handy , and pulled out "Rainbow" Specifically "Rainbow Rising" ...Plugged it in .....thought "this may be a little too much "HEAVY" for my mood" but I sat with it, Then WhaM I came thru !! Dio and Blackmore pulled me right up !
Man I NEED to plug that CD in a bit more often !!
Good old Hard and Heavy Classic Rock ! Man what a powerfull album that was 4 Tracks of full on Blackmore/ Dio..doing what they do best.
If your a Dio or Blackmore fan you owe it to yourself to GET a little early Rainbow in your life, Thjese guys certainly knew how to put it together, (too bad they couldn't keep it together.)

So I'm out of my Funk , I get in the house and decide I need to check on the boys to see what they're up too these days, well the news is not Good.
Ronnie James Dio is in hospital with an undisclosed sickness, he's 67 now, I certainly hope he's not too ill.
He is by far, The most influential musician in my life, I grew up on Sabbath, Dio, Rainbow, Purple.
Saw him two years ago with the Heaven and Hell tour, at 65 he's still got the Golden Throat.

All our Lives have an end ,...I just hope Dio can tough it out a little Longer.

Long Live Rock and Roll.
Long Live the King............\,,/

Dio is AWESOME!! I'm glad you pulled yourself out of the funk you were in. Every winter I seem to find myself sinking into a bit of a depression.. Some worse than others... I have been trying to engulf myself with projects that keep my mind going

Rainbow Rising one of my favourite records :yesnod: :2thumbs: Glad you got outta your funk. I think it happens to everyone during the cold gloomy season of the year. I try to keep myself busy and not think about things that bring me down and it never hurts to have some good tunes blaring too.

Stargazer is the signature track on Rising, but they're all great.  Cozy Powell really kills on Light in the Black.

True story - but it's not really a story, but it is true.  I saw Dio in 2000.  I filled up the gas tank and reset the trip odometer and then drove from East Lansing to Grand Rapids, and then circled the parking lot a few times looking for a spot.  After the show my g.f. and I got in the car, I fired up the engine, and the trip odometer read 66.6 miles.  We both thought that was pretty cool.
