welp... its official, i "got" my 71 Charger drag car back

me and two friends partnered up on this car back in '99.  Wrenched on it and got it ready to drag race.  We were slow, but we learned.  We finally got the car down to a 12.17 at 108 at heartland in topeka.  I am now getting the car back from one of the friends for a whopping $133.33 (we paid 400 for it together).  Oh, plus dinner for him and his wife.  Here are some pictures of the old girl, though she doesnt look as good right now.

Looks good, glad to see the hole it in a flat hood. My parts car came with a 74 bulge hood with a hole cut in it. Never understood why they would do that.

well..i will be pulling my 440 out of my 73 RR and putting it into this car so it seems.  I was going to make the RR a drag car, but i think i would rather have it as a driver due to it being what it is.  I have a lot of body work to do on it soo.... the charger is back.

For all who do not know, as it has been forever, this charger is why my username is RD.  Back when we got this car, we named it "racedodge".  That's the girls name.  So, my username used to be racedodge on the old forum.  Everyone just started calling me RD instead of typing out racedodge, so that is why my username is what it is today... a lil tidbit of dodgecharger.com useless history right there for ya!

440 11.5 to 1, .030 over, forged crank, offset bushing rods, deck height .040 below, 516 heads 2.14/1.81 valves, Weiand dual-quad tunnel ram with 2x600 cfm Edelbrock's, 292/.509 cam

8 3/4 w/4.56 spooled, SS springs

727 built by me.  Pretty much the engine in my RR going into the charger.. now.. need to find something for the RR after i get the bodywork done
