This is my parents car ( and quite often my driver since my dad don't want to drive anymore ) 280S W116 1975.

I HAD to get new ign wires today ( mandatory, the ones on car didn't work anymore ). Got 1 Kohms set and the ones on my car were 5 Kohms.

what I have to get worried ?.

( points distributor, not electronic ign )

Dunno if I'll be able to find 5 Kohms. In fact I had to drive ALL AROUND THE CITY on these last two days untill find them

Maybe change condenser? I would think it still will run.  :scratchchin:

The difference is one set has a resistor in the plug...non resistored wire. Next is non resistored plug ...with a wire with a resistor in it. You just have to match the sparkplugs to the new wires. Get a set of sparkplugs with the resistor built in.

reistor is in plug, yes, but I think in both.

interesting.... resistored spark plugs!!!... I haven't though on that before.

I think that will help on keep a little bit more on stock specs.

Is there something more I have to pay attention ?
