'68 fuse box mounting?

I've never had my fuse box solidly mounted in all the years that I've had the car.  Does anybody have a picture of a proper installation?  The service manual says that it mounts to the lower support of the dash with a self tapping screw.  I see a hole there next to the access door in the glove box, but it just doesn't seem right if the access door is, in fact, to access the fuses.  All the wires would be hanging down in plane site.  Now, maybe if the fuses were mounted facing down and the access door in the glove box were only to access the wiring terminals on the back of the block, then that might work.  What's the right way to install this?  Thanks,  Bob

Hey, thanks Troy!   The fuses point down away from the access door, so that makes more sense now.  Not that it makes any difference, but my access door is located on the far left side of the glovebox rather than as shown in the last picture.  Thanks again!! Bob

yeah 69s like that also    , prefure the 68 set up !! easier to change

preffer 69/70s... better useable room on glove box.  . Is not common get a blown fuse, and I think the step on liner to the fuse box makes it "uncomfortable"

My 67 is also in that lower position screwed to the bottom edge of the dash frame like Troy's 1st pic.  Seems like my experience has been that it is a better postion for getting dripped on by any sort of windshield or wiper pivot leaks.  My observations have usually been that the 69-70 style seem to be less often water damaged.
No science obviously, just my own observations over time.

true  don't normaly blow , but  had a instrument lamp fuse blow the other week  ( long story) ,  fiddly trying to change it with a intact ( new ) glove box liner
