Steering Box Q....I have issues!

The stock box in my 68 was leaking...( power box ) I pulled it and sent it out for a rebuild, the company tells me the shaft is in excellent condition and it just needs seals everything else is in great shape....well then i get a call and they tell me after a complete rebuild the shaft is " sticking " to one side-they bench test all boxs.  They tell me my stock box is no good and return another box to me completely rebuild. Tell me this one tests ok.  They do return my original box which is now in about 100 pieces...what im concerned about is what this " other box " came from, i really wanted my original box....so heres what i got-whos good with numbers?

these are the numbers on the box....D216G is stamped on the left side of these numbers

these are the numbers on the box.....1849 is stamped on the left side of these numbers...any help would be great
