I MIGHT see the Charger shell back in my garage soon.
If so, get started on some assembly - mainly the underside stuff: lines, suspension, etc..

In the meantime, I've got new leaf springs for the New Yorker that need to get installed.
I'd like to put in a dual exhaust setup, but I haven't really done any planning on that yet.
I've got most of the parts to put the A/C back in to working order, so that's an option.
I've got some grille trim and sill plates to put on as well.

Build a Daytona clone.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

I'm finally at the point that I'm moving forward with the 69.....got the car in 06 so that alone is great....
I have it stored dry again, the body is almost bare except for some small stuff and the suspension
Bought for over $1500 of sheetmetal and torque boxes and stuff (still need to order the XV body stiffening stuff...).
Hope to manage the replacing of the sheetmetal this winter, so that by summer 2010 i can have it media blasted and can get along with getting it straight.....

slightly more than a winter prject.... :icon_smile_tongue:

Do some more body work (I still won't be able to get it painted). Try to find a left side tail light, and clean up and replace the tail light unit. And just other odds and ends.

Not sure how much I'll finish in the time allotted, but I'm looking at:

New front suspension
Disc Brake conversion
front and rear sway bars
headers
new dual exhaust
holley intake
new carb

... and the list goes on ;)

Rebuild the 727. Have the converter flushed. New trans cooler + lines + thermostat controlled fan.
Dana 60 + rear discbrakes. New driveshaft.
Pull the interior and weld together a rollbar, put the interior back in
Weld the subframe connectors
Some electrical work, new generator
Fix an oil leak...

...and probably a million other things.... :brickwall:

Well considering I get my engine finished this week.

Charger:
rebuild wiring harness
finish the grille

Belvedere:
rebuild P/S pump and gear box
replace master cylinder and a brake line
maybe rebuild the front end

Install engine, trans, exhaust, etc in Project '69.
Then wiring, A/C, bumpers, grille, interior, sound system, and on... and on.. and on...  :think:

Lots of winter upgrades and work to do ;

-Install the new 572ci engine
-New caltrac suspension and shocks on all 4 corners
-Install the new Willwood master cylinder
-upgrade the entire fuel system : Mallory 250gpm electric fuel pump and supply/return lines
-install sump in spare fuel tank
-new torque converter
-new driveshaft with 1350 yokes & u-joints
-Detroit locker for the Dana 60 to replace the clutch SG unit

* That should keep me busy for awhile  :lol:

Hopefully this year I can actually work on my winter project, the last two winters I've spent finishing our basement. I'd like to get my Charger 500 clone project moving in the right direction. Hopefully this winter I can get started on some of the metal work...it needs both quarters, interior floors, trunk floor, and driver side inner fender. I already have a solid-cammed 440, hemi 4-speed, and 4.10 Dana for it. Hoping to have have a fun, low 11-sec street/strip car.

and the sooner I get done with the clone, the sooner I can get the resto started on my 2nd project...

how is your 500 grille fastened? original brackets? and where did you get the coronet headlight bezels?(the ones the headlight attaches to, not the front bezel).

On the clone, I was lucky enough to find a pair of correct C500 headlight panels on ebay probably 5-6 years ago (i've been planning this project for a long time, hopefully this willl be the year it gets rolling) . One even has the part number on it still. The brackets for the grill and the filler pieces that fit between the headlight trim and the fender I bought from Mike at Dayclona. My real 500 project I found this year. Someone on this board posted the Craigslist ad and it was just 2 hrs from my house. It came with everything, including the original engine :2thumbs: so I was pretty lucky there. Now I have a model to work off of too.

Those bezels are welded to the coronet fenders right? So my only chance is a pair of NOS c500 bezels?
