Thanks, for all the help, yes, I have Ebay and my pm's blocked here at school.  I think if it stops raining here I will bring the car into school get it up on the lift and have some one better with a camera take some pics of the bottom of the car, trunk, interior etc. and relist on Saturday.  I got several calls on both cars just parking them in front of a grade school near my home.  I have also been getting some autamated calls from 702 area code since listing it on ebay.  The call says they are a marketing Co. that can help me sell my car.  Anyone have any experience with this?  I sold a 72 at Gateway, a classic car consignment place, but that took months in a good economy.

I would keep the Reserve price and set the Buy It Now option maybe a little bit higher. Remember the Reserve price sets the price at the FULL OFFER made by buyer once met, and not with the minimun required to met the Reserve.

That means if you set the Reserve in $18K and somebody offers $19K once, you'll get the full $19K and not $18010 for example

Tom, I hope you don't think I was some how upset that you suggested Ebay.  Infact, I have two messages from people who wanted to know if the car was still available and if they could come look at it.  I cant get to Ebay on here only the message sent to ebay to my email.  I will contact both of them right after school and hopefully move a car or two.  If not I will take some of the advice on here and relist the car next week.  Ebay says I have 90 days to relist and if it sells they will give me adiscount

Thanks Stuart one of the guys who messaged me through Ebay was from MO and the other IL.  I won't know who it is until I get to the computer at the Mopad were I can access Ebay.  I put My cell and e mail in the ad, but every one seems to want to send questions through Ebay rather than calling or e mailing direct :shruggy:

Some examples of what I've done in the past.

Use Photobucket to host your pictures.  It's free & you can post as many as you want.  Remember, there's no such thing as too many pictures.  Video is nice too as well as free.
What pictures you take is important too.  I take pictures of the trunk channels & where the quarter is spot welded inside the door.  If any metal was replaced it helps to show how it was done.
-subframe pictures
-bottom of doors
-inside trunk lid lip
-inside the trunk (the rear quarters), you can tell a lot about a car from that area alone.
All the places that are known for rusting.
I always start my 7 day auctions around 9-10am Pacific time on either a Saturday or Sunday.

More than any thing I don't expect to sell a car through ebay.  It's more of an advertising tool for me.
You wanna get bidders riled up, end the auction half way through.  :D You'll get a mailbox full of PM's, DAMHIK.

A year or two ago I had my Challenger advertised for $38k & folks were beatin' down my door.  Most were scared off by the dash pad having cracks.  I replaced the pad, corrected the color of the top & stripe & dropped the price 4k & all I heard was crickets.  It's a tough market right now.

Congrats on Larry's Daytona.  I would have liked to score it too.

Nice color combination.

would you be interested in a trade. I have a few parts I would  like to get rid of

Thanks gtx6070, but the only reason I am selling this car is to buy Larry's Daytona Clone.  I have approval from my credit union for the loan if I can't sell it in the alloted time, but the payments will make things real tight until I do move one of the cars.  I can live with that my, biggest concern is garage space.  I only have room indoors for 3 cars.  I love them all and really don't want any of them stored outside. I will be happy to sell you the 68 or 73 and I will make you a real good deal if you buy both :icon_smile_big:

Thanks! I think if it doesn't sell, I will take out a loan for the ballance and drop either the 68 or 73 off at one of the local classic car consignment places and see if they can move it.  That way it will still free up a spot in the garage

I read your ebay ad and it got me confused. You might want to clarify this:

Fresh QQ1 Blue paint new white vynil top, 383 4 barrel, 727 on the colum, 8 3/4 rear with 3:23 gears, original engine and rear, transmission was swaped out by the 2nd owner in 1981.

You might want to clarify this sentence. I'm reading this to mean that the original motor, tranny and rear were removed by the 2nd owner in 1981.

If this was the case, then what engine, tranny and rear is in the car now.

I'm guessing you meant to say the engine and rear are NOM and the tranny is not. :Twocents:

Good luck, I'm sure you'll sell it this time!

Here's my advice for some changes to the ad.  :Twocents:

The fact that you have "0" history hurts you on ebay.

I would add to your ad that you are only selling this car only because you are going to buy a daytona clone. Add that you also are selling the super bee. This way people will think the car is good and without issues and your only selling to buy something else and not because the car has issues.

If you know, put a link to the parts needed to fix the headlights and an estimate of the cost.

You mention fresh QQ1 paint, tell a little about any work that was done prior to painting the car. If no work was required, even better, tell that. Tell the price paid for the paint if it was high, shows the car has plenty of money sunk into it. Looks like you painted the tail panel and have fresh bumpers, play up that.

Mention it's a dependable car ready to go to the cruise night and describe a long uneventful trip you took in the car. People want to know the car is reliable. Tell if the electrical, windshield wipers etc. work.

Motor looks stock, play that up, original air cleaner, valve covers, its an "H" code, play up the fact that it is a 383 330 Horse Big Block car.

You have enough cars to know the spots you'd want to see close up if you were buying this car. Take some close up shots of each 1/4 behind the rear tire, under each door, the rear window. All the shots you have on the auction showing the rust areas are 20 footers.

Describe the stuff done and the amount spent. That shows you did a lot of work to the car and the price is justified. Don't list engine repairs made, then the car seems like it isn't reliable.

Thanks, I will try to ad to the description, unfortunetly, the first auction had my camera work with the thumb featured often.  For the shots I used I took the car to school and had a student from the computer/photo class take those pics.  It would be at least Wednesday or Thursday before I can get more photos.
