there is a very big shift solenoid on those , I think on top (if i remember correctly) sealed with a thin rectangular odd shaped gasket .  You can get them at trans mission parts supply places.
   usually like 50 bucks .   That is mostlikely  whats wrong with those .

alot we bought a 96 cavalier friday for  50.00 bucks .  Has a bad trans per the customer . We bring it in put a right front axel seal in it , fill the trans up with fluid and i sold it today for 1500.00 . Nice little gas saver . Wish i could do that everyday  LOL
