UPDATED MY FIRST POST ON THIS THREAD: 03-29-2012

Well I'm finally posting up a thread for my car.  I'm way past due for a thread like this.

I already posted pics of my car in another thread, but I'd like to share more pictures of her & future builds & restorations in this thread.

A little bit about the car & myself...

When I first started working enough to earn the money to buy a car on my own.  I decided I was capable of buying my dream car... A Charger.

I spent 5 years saving up and cutting my spending and hanging out with friends.  I worked full time and school kept me soo busy I didnt have time to waste money on small stupid stuff, which made it easy for me to save.

After years of searching, I felt it was hopeless because I had enough money at my disposal and the only cars out there were junkers.

I only looked for local owners in California because I didnt have time to waste with people out of state and waste my money on plane tickets.  Most sellers I ran into where complete "hot heads" and wanted too much.

I found these nice folks from New Mexico.  They seemed real nice so I finally did what I haven't done for the last few years....I decided to take a plane flight. I went on Valentines day weekend.  When I saw the car in person, it was love at first sight.

The owner spent the whole day with me going over the car.  Needless to say, the situation was just right, the seller was a very nice person and I finally closed the deal with him.

I got the car delivered a week later last February...

We were meant to be together forever.
She has some imperfections, but I plan on doing a restoration after I finish college.

Future plans:
I plan n giving the blower a break so that I can take her with me on my adventures & have some memories with her. The car gets lousy mileage...lousy

I want to do a pro-touring / pro-street type set up so that I can compete like Mr. Angry
I want to do a conversion with an XV motorsports suspension setup (yeah I know, a lot of money right?)
Im not too sure about the modern hemi conversion because I'm still attached to the vintage feel of an older big block engine.
I still want my car to still perform well though

Great forum though guys.  I still plan on doing a lot of browsing and learning from you veteran mopar owners.  Im finally living a dream...

Here's Valerie

Nice car! i love blowers. I believe that is a 6-71 blower. I have one in my garage I bought 25 years ago which I have wanted to use but keep getting side tracked by the XS and V code cars which I feel obligated to return to stock!

Here's some more pics guys.

Yes. I have a fuel cell because the last owner took it out and was not too fond of the rotting trunk which is why he ended up putting a large metal plate to support the trunk.

My leaf springs were relocated and attached to the rear frame rails (see one of the pics below) in order to tub out the rear wheel wells.  Is this practical?  I like my tubbed wheel wells, but Im not sure how many people do this to their leaf springs.  Your inputs would be appreciated...

In the mean time here are more pics around my car. She's pretty clean, no rust spotted so far.
I have intentions to refreshen up the car
I'm eventually going to paint her black as well.
Most likely gloss black because I never found out a way to replicate the semi gloss appearance of Blade's Charger.

The fuel cell:

Underside pictures:

Pic of her in New Mexico before I took her home:

My other daily drivers hanging outside.  The Charger gets the garage space...
I have a red, white & blue car...Im patriotic and I dont even realize it  :2thumbs:

LeadfootBob

Big block, jimmyhuffer, Dana 60 AND a four speed? You've got all the goodies in the world in a single package there, and an exterior to match  :D
Love the shot with the lighting underneath the engine, real sinister stuff.
As for the leaf spring relocation... Mopar sells a kit for that. Cut out the end of the frame rail and weld a box in there with mounting holes. Can't tell from the pictures, but sounds like what you've got.
