Everytime I touch this project the past few weeks I find more mismatch issues. To keep a long story short here is where I'm at with my 383 to 440 motor swap project, I replaced my old flywheel with a new one of matching size. I bought a new Centerforce clutch kit based on the old 11' disc size. I now have a pressure plate housing that has 12 5/8" mounting hole centers (on the new center force kit) and a matched flywheel with 11 5/8" hole mounting centers. Just this morning I have traced the problem back to that it appears the old pressure plate assembly was for a 10.5" disc and someone at some point decided to stuff an 11" disc in the middle of the mix.

I guess in an effort to not order more parts that will not work I need to find out if buying a 10.5" clutch kit will give me the 11 5/8" mounting hole centers on the plate housing to match up to the new (and old) flywheel hole centers that I have to work with and will yield me all the correct size final parts that I should be using for my setup? (in case it should come up the new and old flywheels are the 130 tooth size)

As a side note I assumed thus far that my bell housing will interchange from the 383 BB to the 440 BB that I am setting up to drop in. Please let me know if I am in store for any probs on that front. If for some reason I should need to replace the bell housing I would try to get a fly wheel to match a larger bell so I can utilize the new centerforce 11" clutch that I already paid for and cant return due to the purchase being months ago. I expect at this point the upgrade would be more trouble then its worth just to gain a simple 1/2" not to mention putting out more money for parts.

Probably confusing as hell so feel free to ask questions if more info is needed to assist with my current voluntary nightmare....haha

I would say yes, the 10 1/2" clutch kit will give you 11 5/8" centers. The bell housing you have should work as well. I just installed my 10 1/2" centerforce kit from Brewers.

Thanks for the response. Was your kit an upgrade or a same size replacement? Had a chance to test drive it yet?
