I think his point is that that they exist now.  It's another one of these parts that has been "coming soon" for a while.

When we're getting this much of the car's entire unibody structure from the aftermarket, they'd better be making this stuff out of original-strength steel.

I wish dynacorn would make 70 71 cuda convertible bodys. I asked them once they hung up the phone on me.  My question is does dynacorn manufacture all their metal here or is it done offshore??

Mike DC

Dynacorn is doing it in Taiwan like all the rest.  Although the story is that they are getting the quality of the metal alloys and the sheetmetal tolerances better than the typical resto parts.

Personally I don't see why they don't just make large sub-assemblies if they can't justify doing whole bodies yet.

Imagine just being able to buy the whole rear subframe (with the sheetmetal flooring already welded on, perfect tolerances, etc) as a huge lump in a wooden shipping crate.  Or imagine being able to buy a whole underside, from the gas pedal floorpan seam all the way back to the rear bumper (including the rocker boxes).

I would expect that doing sub-assemblies like this would make the production costs much less than doing the whole unibody, and many of those chunks of the chassis would apply to more than one type of outer skin.

jaak

I looked it up on there website....in fact it was one of the FAQ, there answer....there are no plans on doing it, MOPAR is not there market.

yes that would be nice to have sub assemblies ,it would be nice for amd to do this as I believe there is a market for it. especially the 70 71 cudas I have a 340 platform 70 cuda that needs everything it would be a shame to just get rid of it I have a clean title for it                                                   Think how many cuda convert shells they could sell. i guess dynacorn sells everything individually or they will assemble the whole shell for you.

If it's for a Chevy you can get anything you want.  Us Mopar fans have had to beg for everything.  Maybe AMD will think about welding up unibodys in the future.  They seem to be making about all the pieces now.

I think it is just a matter of time that somebody will make a Charger shell, the car is too popular not too.
