Looking for a new 440 for my 68 Charger and would like a ready to go engine so I'm looking for a good builder. Would like to stay local in Indiana but I will travel if needed. Any thoughts? I can spend around $6K or so.

I think for 6K, you should be able to do alright at numerous Shops in your area, in the way of a 425-450HP 440 engine that would compliment your Charger.

Our Shop just did a pump gas 440-6 pack longblock for a guy, we supplied Forged Crank '68 440 Core Engine, re-built it completely W/6pk Pistons, ported 906 Heads, etc.to longblock, it Dyno'd at 447hp, and THAT, was the 6K you mentioned, CND $$  !

Shop around, you'll do Fine on that budget.
