I'm getting pretty excited these days. My engine and trans are back from the machine shop, together, painted and IN THE CAR!!!  :icon_smile_big: I haven't made much progress over the summer due to waiting on the engine/trans to get finished up, but now that it's back I'm ready to dive back in with both feet. It's the stock 318/904 that came in the car. The only things I have changed (aside from the color) are the Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock carb, Comp Thumpr cam and Hedman headers. Anyway, here are some pictures, what do you guys think?

That's me in the orange hat.

Awesome! That always freaks me out seeing an engine and trans. at a 45-degree angle on a cherry picker. One snap and it's craploads of money down the toilet.

Especially with a very valuable arm and head under it. Not to mention my favorite "wrenching" hat.

Thanks for the encouragement!!! Jaak, the orange you used is actually the one I was after. What brand/color is that?

This car is my "budget" driver....so when it came time to paint (it was late in the evening, local paint stores closed)...I went to tractor supply and got a quart of Valspar Tractor enamel (Kubota Orange) for 9.99, and a 1/2 pint of hardener for 12.99 (a 1/2 pint is enough for 4 quarts). I mixed it up and sprayed it out of my spray gun. I also used it on my bellhousing. I figured if its durable enough for tractors should hold up fine on engines....almost 3 months later, looks as good as the day I sprayed it.
