My 1969 chargers headlights dim when I accelerate hard? They are fine when the highbeams are on, its only when its just the low beams. I'm terrible when it comes to electrical and not sure what to do.

There is no noise coming from the alt., Im going to check the wires tonight to see if any are bad. I'm hoping it will be something simple. Thanks guys.

Check the terminals at the bulkhead connector for corrosion, they're a constant source of problems from the firewall forward.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Does'nt mean the belt does'nt scream it aint slippin'

Check your ground wires from engine to body.....might be under full load (when the engine moves hard) that you have a bad ground...
Can't imagine the alt. being the problem....

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

What about a failing battery?  Or would that be more likely to show up as a misfire and dimming lights under load?

There was some corrosion on the ends of the headlight wires. There wasnt much but after I cut off and replaced the bad areas the lights stopped dimming.
