SUPERBIRD TRUNK SEAL PART NUMBER WANTED

When I did body and paint work on my Superbird many years ago I replaced the original trunk seal. Does anyone have an original seal on their car? If so could you share the part number that is molded into the seal. Also contact me if you have an NOS one for sale. Contact me at moparjohn@verizon.net

How about # 3445379.Took it off when I did the car 17yrs ago and put it back on.

I tried to remove mine intact but was unable to salvage it. The part number was not found so its either been left stuck to the car or a good bit of the rubber has paint on it that peeled off from the car is hiding the part number.

Here is some more info to absorb. In my avitar is my 1970 Superbird that I mention in the start of this post and my 1970 GTX. I have owned the GTX since 1970 and only used it as a race car. I decided to check the trunk seal in it and it should be part number 3445379 also. But it has 2482852 on it in about 6 places. Is this another case where the part number does not match the part?  I'm curious more than ever on whats actually on original seals.

MJ, the 2482852 number you found on your X's seal is the same number found on '68-69 Chargers (and Daytona's as well as most other B-bodies from that era, maybe all of 1970 too) original trunk seals as well.  At the assembly plant, they just had a big roll of that weatherstrip material which bore this particular number on its face - periodically embossed as you pointed out.  It was installed and cut to length as-needed.

When ordering a Chrysler replacement seal through the parts book, the part number referenced a specific length of that material -- which is why they have different part numbers for what is actually the same weatherstrip material.

I guess old age and bad memory.I would imagine original was cut from bulk stock as needed and replacemert part cut to fit.Not sure about the number change.

Thanks for all the help. I have attached a picture from my GTX with that same part number on it. If this same weatherstrip was used on many cars of the era does anyone know where to get some NOS?

I just noticed that the weatherstrip on 62MAX's is stamped in and on my GTX it's raised!

I think it's just the angle of 62Max's picture - the letters should be raised.  You can take a deep breath now...

Johj,if you need anything else,let me know.Everything is original to my car.Bought it in 1982 with 37K miles,now has 46K.Also,time for a little change.
