i guess this has been asked many times thanks for the thread
i guess its just what you decide to buy a little here a little there the problem ive found is everyone wants to sell you the package and gets there feelings hurt when you only want a couple of things from them thats what ive ran into

i picked up my dane made wing lower nose cone brackets wing brackets and valiant turn signals from rich this weekend at the nats thanks rich goodluck with the c500

hey

it really depends on how much money you got . i used a stinger one . it fit ok in some places and not good in other places and needed body work. i've heard good and bad about Janek but he makes great stuff.

if i was to do another daytona . i would use a stinger nose . because of the price and mine was here in 3 weeks. plus i have a couple of friends that are auto  body men .

In 1996 we got a janak 'glass nose...fit and finish left a lot to be desired...lots of cutting & finishing had to be done to make it look presentable... was not happy with the product.

Was probably the best that could be done back then

unrulyprocuda

thanks for the info your car looks great now and i love the purple color on it
I have to wonder when they were built at creative industries did the nose cones really fit good then im shure they also had to do a lot of work to get it to look good and match up

1 ok stinger cone would buy another
1 ok janek cone would not buy another
now i need a dayclona vote
rich rtse, and daytonalo whose nose cone did you use and why this will definately help me with an informed decision the steel 6,000.00 one is beyond reason

nascarxx29

What was wrong with the Janak nose you didnt eloberate on what the problem was to this statement. 1 ok janek cone would not buy another

I used and know several who have and built race cars with these parts. And installed on original cars aswell. And they hold up very well .So happened with your nose

I'm surprised that this car has a fiberglass nose. Looks like it held up pretty well considering the speed.
I really like the paint scheme. I keep looking for something to change my mind on painting my car back black. Haven't found anything yet.

im not trying to make anyone mad just make an informed purchase any information is greatly appreciated im clearly keeping score from  peoples opinions a383wing didnot like the fit of his older janek nose cone and was not happy maybe the mold has gotten better with age another key piece of the puzzle is time factor it supposedly takes longer for a janek nose cone to be delivered than a stinger piece and the dayclona nose cone is made off of a ted janek nose cone i have read and read different articles on this forum and talked to several people  i guess they are basically all the same  just three different prices its great to have everyone weigh in thier opinions so

1 ok stinger would buy another  3 week shipping
1 ok janek would not buy another took longer to get and fitment was left to be desired
1 ok janek looks great after several salt flat runs at 200mph very durable and holds up very well

nascarxx29

Dont get me wrong your entitled to your opinion .I sold Ted Jnak cars and parts and known them since the early 80-s .My wrecked 6 pack superbird 19K mile car was a donor for his molds..And never had any issues with him.And when I see or read negative statement. I try to see whats the nature of the problem .As I said hes been good to me for many years. And even this guy who bought one of his superbirds had good things to say.lucaslaw

Well, I bit the bullet and bought Ted's Bird.  Until I get the $$$ for resto she's going satin black with a set of the new NASCAR steel wheels and modern rubber, should look absolutely evil.  I have one thing to say about Ted Janak, He's a heck of a guy

When I seen on here he sent Wayne perkins the wrong headlight door for the daytona that hit the dear.I called him to mess with him. And I feel your integrity and business is good word of mouth.

thats great im a businessman also and word of mouth beats advertisment any day im not trying to bash anyone or thing just discuss the good and the bad on these parts there are a lot of new guys like me that want to build cars with these parts thats why this discussion board is such an asset you hear from people like you that have been doing it for years and get thier opinions on the good the bad and the ugly .I  have heard many times that ted and his family are very nice people and run a respectible business they have made aftermarket parts  longer than any one and still doing it that speaks volume to me. i was not trying to be negative at all just listening what other wing car guys have to say about everyones products . thanks

nascarxx29

:2thumbs: I can appreciate that .I dont know what problem the purple daytona had with his nose .I had this clone with the older line of parts .As this car was built in the 80-s I had.And got street driven hard .And friend I sold it to raced it for years .And had no issues

i've heard horror stories about the length of time it takes to get Janek parts . i don't know the man . i spoke to him once on the phone when i was trying to find my daytona parts. i asked him a question and he said , buy the parts off of me and i'll tell you how to do that .  i said thank you and good buy .

i've heard the dayclona nose is on the money but i've never seen one myself . doesn't matter cause i couldn't afford it any way .

daytonalo used a stinger nose on his car and he hated it .

here's my car with the stinger nose and working headlights.

I have Ted Janak's Nosecone on my car...

How's the fit look to you ? :shruggy:

unrulyprocuda

it looks great was there much work to get it looking that good and how long did you wait to get it also did you use his lower valance or did you make that too in steel

I have an older Janak nose for my Daytona clone and it fits pretty good. I've heard that he's made improvements since and they fit even better. I think he said that he now uses aluminum inserts for the nose to z-brace mounts. That would be a great improvement.
I have a Dayclona Superbird nose and it's the best fiberglass nose that I've ever seen. Very beefy in all the right places.
You will have to be patient if you want the good stuff. The junky stuff can be gotten pretty quick.

Huge amount of work to get everything to fit together. I actually left the nosecone

pretty much as it came from Ted Janak, and modified the car to fit the nosecone.

The valance is Ted's fiberglass part too.

It took seven months to get my parts from Ted.

Don't let the time thing worry you.

Daytona clones don't just snap together over night.

Expect to wait on your parts, from whoever you choose to buy them from.

Expect disappointment.

Expect parts that don't fit.

Expect to have to modify and/or fabricate EVERY part of your project.

Overall I was pleased with Ted's parts, and If I were do this project again, I would

buy SOME of the parts from Ted again.

The exceptions would be the inner workings of the headlights (MUST be steel)

The "Z" brackets-they MUST be steel also.

And the rear window plug MUST be steel.

And I'd probaly buy Dane's wing.

The wing I got from Ted is very nice, extremely sturdy,

But Dane's hollow aluminum wing is just so DAMNED COOL!  :coolgleamA:

unrulyprocuda

yea i unpacked the wing last night and its a work of art and very heavy  anxious to bolt it on  and get exited about the build. thanks for your info its greatly appreciated is your car in paint yet. hey by the way do you still have the latch tray for sale  is it steel
