Hello all. I would like to start with I went to the registry meet this year and was yelled at repeatedly by Wes for not having my car there. Well I am very mad at him right now. I just spent 14 hrs yesterday and going on 10 hours today but it's in the bay. Did I mention it is the hotest day of the year here?
I did the cam break in, changed the oil. Changed the plugs again, and worked out all the bugs. I went out in it twice before cleaning it up. Now I'm off to a local car cruise and show hosted by the Toledo Tuners. I guess I'll have to get over it and thank him later. The Firm Feel box feels great, all the leaks are gone (for now). I just hope the headlights work when I touch the switch. Well, its off to get sweaty and possible a little dirty. Have a great night everyone.

OK, Jerry, I don't believe I yelled at you even once.  But I will admit to badgering you mercilessly!  And not about not having your car there at the meet (since I didn't have mine there either), but about not doing anything to the car, for so long, when you didn't have that much to do to it!!!!!!!

Anyway, get over it, glad you finally got off your ass and got the car on the road.  You owe me.

And say hi to Jessie for us.

Wes

deputycrawford

LOL. I knew I'd bring you out of the wood work Wes...lol. I know you didn't yell, I was just kidding. You did get me to thinking about fixing the wrongs on the car. I runs pretty darn good with the milder .525 lift cam. I will put the 3:23 pig in the car soon though. The 4:10s are pretty nasty on the street. I will say hello to Jessie for you, and please do the same to Geri. Now if I could only get Scarebird to contact me for the kit.
Oh, and for the camera thing. I did have two of them.......somehow I didn't get "half" in the divorce. My cell phone is from 1982....lol  The camera phone in it is horrible. I also wouldn't know how to transfer them to the internet. I'll have to work on that. One thing at a time. At least I got the car running. Remember guys, if Wes gives you "that look", you better get to fixing.  :nana:

GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

deputycrawford

Well, I had it up and moving. It looks like the cam ate itself or the timing chain broke. I have to tear it down enough to find out. I will let everyone know what is wrong so I know how much to sell it for. I will wait a week or so and post again about the sale. That way everyone one will know its not just because I'm mad. This car has never been kind to me and it's run me into the ground for the last time. Again I'll post in the for sale section in a week or so. This time I'm not changing my mind.

Well, I had the intake off. The cam did eat itself. I Don't know if the bearings are bad but whoever gets the car shouldn't have too hard a time getting it back in shape.

I used Comp Cams High Lift series .525 and comp 911 valve springs. I used Rotella oil with one bottle of Lucas Oil cam break in lube. I changed the oil after the 20 minute break in. I then put  Valvoline VR 20w 50 oil and another bottle of Lucas Oil Break in lube. I run break in lube on all oil changes. I don't trust the amount of Zinc in current oils.
