If your on a tight budget like most of us you will want to try this. I had a very rough set of rear trim that I thought I would try and make presentable while saving a ton of money. I don't have the before pic (sorry) but believe me they were pitted and hideous. First I sanded then sanded some more. I filled the pits with JB weld and applied with a very small flat tip screwdriver. Let it dry and sanded some more. Once it felt smooth to touch I went to the hardware store and bought some metallic paint. Here is the out come. Once they have dried at least 48 hours I will clear coat.
Not show quality but very presentable.

looks great, you're going to do that to whole bumper? That's great idea, never thought about it as I was going to have mine replated and its just too expensive at the moment

I have a spare bumper I may try it on just to see how it will turn out. Usually I try more budget minded restorations on parts I get for cheap just to see if I can save and still have a presentable look.

Well, I screwed up on the trim. Before they were 100% dry, I thought they were dry, I wrapped them in a soft clothe so they would not get dinged. Well, when he opened them up the rag had stuck to the paint. Ouch. Anyway, I redid them and am dropping them off tonight again.

Yep I have learned that lesson the hardway, myself too.

They look great, I may have to do the same myself.  The budget is pretty thin now
