I like it but it's just a concept. Given their history the end result will be an ugly POS.

most likely.... the original charger concept i thought was pretty awesome

Looks like even the Chevy fans are hoping that someone else makes a RWD V8 powered pony car.

I wish they had at least offered the new Charger with a manual transmission. I mean what is the fun if you can't shift the gears.

I'm not the least bit interested in their Challenger. I want a Charger, but, a cool two door instead of this sedan crap. They won't build my Charger; I won't buy their Challenger.
Better than than having only the RUSTANG as an option of a retro-styled coupe...

I agree with 66Charger to a degree, I would like DCX top be punished as much as any '06 "Charger" hater would like to see them punished. But then if DCX isn't rewarded with big sales for doing the Challenger right they won't bother doing it right ever again so in that respect I hope this version sells very well... if they actually build it. I don't see why they can't build at least one nice retro two door. They already have the Crossfire so they've proven they aren't totally boring and afraid of having fun.

I think we were all expecting and dreaming of a "slick" hardtop,.. two door,.. but looking around the intermediate hardtop is extinct... perhaps they could only now justify a two door?.. as a ponycar.. and the manual...
personally, I wanted a paddleshifted 4 wheel drive with the swoopy looks of the '99...
It seems the 4 wheel drive versions ain't sellin that well,..
So Andy,..
What's the story on the 4 wheel drive LXs?.. they gonna sell this winter?..

seems this was the accurate illustration,.. if the details are such, this may work quite well..  ^-^

ChargerBill

I'm typically an optimist, but I just can't see holding my breath for this one. When the bean counters get a hold of this it will end up going down the same road as the Creeder. Is it cool the way it sits?.. Definitely. Will it be built that way? Look at history...it isn't that long ago that we were all shown one thing and a last minute switcheroo was made. I would own this car too, but this is a concept show car...they create these things all the time, you just don't see most of them. I really don't know what to expect from them anymore, but IMO DXC will have to   get this one PERFECT to redeem themselves because I still have a sour taste in my mouth over the last POS they created.

Food for thought - if they DO produce this car don't fool yourselves into thinking it will be as affordable as the '06 Creeder. I bet we're talking Cro$$fire dollar figures with this one.

Well if there looking at doing the challenger this way I guess it finally must have hit Chrysler hard somewhere in the pocket book to consider this because I guarentee you,   there not doing it for us.

Charger sales must have really fallen into the toilet or something over the last month or two.

I thought it was creed that said something about us being a "nitch" market at one time and not worthy of a car aimed at us????

Creed...."They think there chargers are the REAL THING" :rotz:

Can you say. SOMEONE STICKING THERE FOOT INTO THERE MOUTH AND KEEPING IT SHUT FINALLY.

I like it!

I agree.  Why does ugleeeee cost more? :puke:

Charger_Fan

I like how it's even got the GM fans drooling. :icon_smile_approve:
I'm tellin' ya, if they actually build that very car in those pics AND it's halfway affordable, I'll be tripping over my wallet to get my name in on the list! I have plans on buying a decent used 05 Saleen or Shelby in 2 to 3 years, but if they make this car, I'm dropping the 'Stang plans like a hot potato!

This is more like it, DCX!!! :2thumbs:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

i dont know if it is fake.   look at the first photo and the shadow of the man on the pass. door.   that looks pretty legit, as well as the shading on the rear in the second photo.

I agree that the shadows look accurate, but there are some colors that don't look right, & there are things in the foreground that are just as focused as the car, but things beyond the car are out of focus. Also, whatever color the other objects in the picture are, they appear washed out & grainy compared to the Challenger itself. (Yes, I know it's a high impact color.) Maybe someone over-enhanced the car in the photos, but I still believe the "spy photos" are fake.

Other subtleties too, like the way the wheels, wheel openings, & the grille appear. To me, the car seems to be a real E-Body Challenger that had some photo modifications done to the nose & tail. The driver's door, mirror, window & roof line are much too exact of a copy in my opinion. Maybe it's a real photo of an old Challenger with people & objects around it to cast those shadows?

RD, if you're planning to be at Carlisle in '06, A cold one says it's fake.   :icon_smile_big:

you know the more i look, the more it looks fake.   did anyone notice it seems the back side window seems to have a chrome divider.. when was the last time dodge used chrome on a car? also it look as if about half of the drip rail chrome in the back is on that car. but the front half obviously doesn't have it. it looks like an old real challenger that has been played with. don't get me wrong, i HOPE I'M WRONG. for the love of God i hope they build that car just as we see it. 71 front end, 70 back end.. i don't give a crap. people would line up to buy the thing, and it would show DCX that first of all there is a market for a 2 door hardtop, and secondly that retro would sell

Riddle me this, why does the driver's side have the pronounced belt-line ridge, and the passenger side does not?

Passenger side looks smooth with a slight flair at the rear wheel.

Then look @ the grille.

It slopes down from the DS to the PS.

Like someone pinched the DS corner of the front end.

I'm with Old Moparsz.....i thought it looked Photochopped before I even read his post suggesting it was a fake.

I think it is a 70 or 71 that someone with some talent has altered. Doesn't look like your typical "mule" car and if it is a concept I doubt it would be out in a parking lot somewhere

69_500

Still looks like a sharp car to me. I hope they do make it, and I hope they sell like hotcakes.
