What I find ironic is that you now accept that DCX has the right to use the Charger nameplate for its automobiles.... ;)

Never said they didn't...please show me where I did. My contention has always been that they created an UGLY Gallant looking sedan that doesn't represent the spirit of the Charger. BTW: Don't bother checking for a reply to your IM...I deleted it. ;) ;) ;) nudge nudge

I'm curious about the copyright part too, but not enough to use my energy to research it. Maybe Last426 (Kim) can chime in, isn't he a copyright lawyer?

Hey Moparz

If'n yer gonna be at Carlisle next year, I'll buy you a Yuengling (even though you're wrong).  You can come hang out w/ me ChrisH, and Rhinodart (Rhino's always good for 15 or 16 beers...but enough about breakfast).
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

I've been wrong before, so what? Even if the car is real, the photo still looks fake to me. As for hanging out, sounds like a plan, & this place has Yuengling on tap.

http://www.nathanscafe.com/menu.htm

I've been going to Carlisle since the early 80's & I think this place has the best food in the whole area. Some friends & I were at a nearby hotel one year, & the only 2 places in town we found were Nathan's & some place where you need a suit to get in. We almost didn't go because the garage attached to the back next to the side entrance was caved in. The building appeared to be on the verge of being condemned, but we were starving & not going to Dunkin Donuts or Burger King for dinner.

I had a blackened swordfish dinner with the crab stuffed mushrooms appetizer. :drool5:   I thought I died & went to heaven.

Now I'm hungry.

I have spoken to three seperate sources today that I consider reliable...

1) The concept car exists
2) The spy pictures are real (although one source had not seen them before I showed him)
3) Sounds like the car may be much closer to production than we thought, ie. 2007 model released next year (in line with what MM said Eric Andrew told him)
4) No pricing information yet
5) There may be minor differences from the concept car, but no '99 Charger concept car fiasco...

I trust these people, and fully BELIEVE that this will happen... I can hardly wait for January and late next year (actually maybe next Summer).

I will be off-line for the next several days, don't need the distraction of the arguments about whether the car is real.  I haven't seen it, but fully believe it is!

Maybe when I get back on-line this weekend it will be all sorted out... right?!?

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Bill, I went to Getty Images and guess what ??
* I found a picture of a 65 or 66 Mustang
*   I found a picture of a Trans-Am race with AMX,Boss Mustang, Camaro, etc.
  *   I found a picture of a car in an assembly plant, being spot welded by robots.

dude, no offense but it is perfectly okay to disagree with someone, but you do not have to be hateful about it.  The "underemployed" comment sure wasnt needed.

Food for thought:  Why buy a new Challenger, when it will probably cost more than a classic Challenger?  I think I'd still rather have a '70 Challenger than a '07 Challenger (though it'd be a shame to drive a classic in the winter).

Why did so many of you guys talk about buying a new Charger, if they made the 99 concept?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

because many would have bought it if they made the 99 concept into a production line vehicle.  Not hard to figure out.

I was just thinking of a good college driver, reliable in the winter, decent gas milage with still  a lot of punch.  The classics will always be better, but you need something to drive when you're going places or at times you don't wanna drive an antique, and i think the '07 would be pretty sweet.  Too bad ill never be able to afford that 392.  Maybe I can find one repo in a few years?  ;D

WHY?  My point was, why did you guys talk about buying a newer Charger, when it would be more expensive than an original?  THAT'S why people would buy the new Challenger.

I wouldn't get my hopes up.This is just another show car.DCX said just a couple months ago no retro cars. And with a 6.1 Hemi? Who cares?
I don't want a Hemi that cuts out the spark to the cylinders. The new Hemis aren't really Hemis anyway.Just another way to cash in on the
musclecar fad.

I don't know if the pictures are real or fake. I believe they are real. Looks real to me. I think that Mopar should build this car if they want to see a profit margin down the road. They need to offer it in a V6, and multiple V8 configurations. they need to offer it with a manual transmission as well, not just slap it with their typical AT.

Here is something I think most are overlooking...It says it's a Concept Car.That means built for shows.Don't expect this car ever to be built.
Just like the 99 Charger.

The Viper was a concept car. So were the Prowler and PT Cruiser. I believe the Crossfire was as well. Concept cars these days are much closer to real cars that could be built as opposed to fantasies that were created in the 60s and 70s. If it's boxy and looks like it will fit on a current platform then all it takes is a decision from someone high enough up in the company.

I have no idea (personally) if they'll build this thing but it can happen easily so I don't rule it out.
