I'm kind of bummed.   Where's the crosshair front end? :icon_smile_big:     I don't know if I like the '71 lookin' grill.

Actually if you look closely... no reason to be bummed... it actually HAS a cross-hairs grille, albeit toned down.  I bet designers spent a lot of time trying to conceal it  ;)

I like it but it's just a concept. Given their history the end result will be an ugly POS.

Notice how the tail panel looks almost identical to the concept Charger's tail panel? Whoever designs Chrysler's concept cars should have Creed's job.

I wonder how long it would take someone to come up with some retro 17" rallyes for that car? I really, really hope they build that car as-is but I will not hold my breath. DCX has been known to disappoint

intersteing,.. it seems to need more surface development.. though,.. looks a bit chunky and crude.. but it is after all a real hardtop!! :icon_smile_wink:

Ah, but the 99 was not a DCX concept.  This is.  I feel this has a good chance of making it to production with only minor changes.  DCX HAS listened to you, and brought what you wanted, in the new Challenger.  I, for one, hope to be able to order a nice black one, in 2009.  Would go well with my OTHER pony car. ;D
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

I for one don't remember asking for a 2-door Challenger.

I do remember asking for a 2-door Charger.   :D

That is pretty cool... but the R/T concept looked pretty cool too and look what it turned into, MAGNUM SEDAN!!!!

I still say those new LH cars are just too narrow, they need to be a foot wider

See what I mean??

Vainglory, Esq.

The Dodge boys would be my heroes if they built that.  More good news?  A manual transmission for the new hemi.  Can you say finally?

Man, they can't even get their propoganda right.   :D

"'We wanted to do a muscle coupe that connects with the American heritage,' said Tom Tremont, vice president for advance product design for the Chrysler Group." :rotz:

Sounds like the, "we want nothing to do with heritage", stance of the Charger design team didn't pan out to well, so now it's all about retro.   :icon_smile_dead:

Time to round up the herd.

There's gonna be a lotta Elmer's Glue as a result.

If they can build a two door Challenger, they can build a two door Charger.  As someone sort of stated earlier, I'm not the least bit interested in their Challenger.  I want a Charger, but, a cool two door instead of this sedan crap.   They won't build my Charger; I won't buy their Challenger.

That I could dig.  I'd buy one if they make it look like that, and its fast.

Sounds to me like a car that they would be able to sell quite a few of. I think back, and for the past 10-15 years I couldn't ever figure out why Chrysler couldn't make a RWD small car that had some balls. Seems they finally figured out what people are looking for. Yeah its not a great family car, but its fun to drive, and people will buy it.

Slap in a 3.5 V6 for the base model at watch them roll off the lot to 16-18 year olds whose parents will get them the sporty looking car but without the hype. And watch the baby boomers roll in and buy the heck out of a HEMI 6 speed version if available.

The Challenger has always been my second favorite Mopar after the Charger. I had a 72 Chalenger that I sold to buy my Charger. I still regret it a bit. If they produce the car in the pictures I will definitely buy one. I will be at the dealership the day they anounce them for sale. Hopefully it's not a deal where they make a concept car that's really cool then uglify the production model. If it looks like that and comes with the Hemi you can mark one sold. I'm in!

TeeWJay426

That is something that I would actually buy. Hopefully, it isn't another bait & switch like the '99 Charger concept was, and the production version will actually come close to the concept. We certainly don't need another Creeder debacle!

I will line up to get one most definitely. That is of course if they actually build it, and it looks like that.

i dont know if it is fake.  look at the first photo and the shadow of the man on the pass. door.  that looks pretty legit, as well as the shading on the rear in the second photo.
