UPDATE 8/20/09

Whelp, since my last update, it all went down hill, and as of this past Monday when my mom and uncle went and saw him, he is officially brain dead, and has a bad infection that is slowly killing his body. My mom told me not to go and see him as I wont reconize him anymore. He is all swollen/bloated up like a dead animal in the sun for a few days. The doctors said at best, people in this condition will only live for 6 months give or take. It's just a matter of time now. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. Everyone here has excepted what happened, and have been dealing with it good.

By the way, - My mom is doing good as well.

Old, young, ready, not ready . . . it's so hard to lose a parent.  Sorry it had to happen.

TruckDriver

Thanks everyone.

My uncle has been making things easier for both of us by helping out with everything. That said, he broke his ankle bad couple of months ago, and is still on crutches. But he still manages to come over and take my mom all over, does some house cleaning. It's a day by day process, but in the end, we'll be fine. It's just hard to believe that he is for the most part gone now. This spring, we were hanging out together more then we did over the past 20 years. I'm just happy I told him I loved him last time I saw him before he had his life taken away.

Romans 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[m] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Cornithians 4:13 It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken."With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, 14because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. 15All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

I'm sorry to hear this brother.  We will continue to say our prayers.  There's really nothing philosophical I can say about it except keep your chin up, and you have all of our support here.  I wanted to post up sooner, but I was at a loss for words, but thanks for keeping us posted and updated!!!   Ace

I don't know what to say since as of a 2 weeks ago I am going through the same thing. I know, for me, I would say goodbye, hold my mom's hand, and let her know it's ok if she wants to go. I will always need her here, when she goes I am an orphan, however that is just my own pain talking. Let him know it is ok to go in to the arms of the angels. No more suffering for the one we lone. My prayers are with you, your dad, and your family. I've asked God to do what is best for my mom, not me.

Thank you everyone very much. I think I got more tears in my eyes reading all the well wishes then I did over everything else. Lot of great people here, and this is why I am still here on this forum. Even though I will never meet most of you, you all are like a family to me. You guys mean a lot to me. Thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.
