Do any of you guys know if my 1999 Grand Cherokee has a timing belt or a chain?

It has 226,000+ miles on it and runs like brand new, looks like new, no leaks etc. I'm not the original owner so I was wondering what the replacement recommendation is for the belt/chain. I keep the oil changed in it regularly and drive it modest.

  IS IT A 4.0 /6CYL OR A 4.7 /8CYL  ????????     EITHER WAY THEY TAKE A CHAIN
THE 4.7 l MOTORS CHAINS ARE A NIGHT MARE .  THEY HAVE CHAINS FRONT AND BACK OF MOTOR WITH JACK SHAFTS RUNNING THROUGH THE MOTOR CONNECTING THE CHAINS .

 they are much easier then the 4.7
