my brother is a county cop....he tells me that if you decide to pull over because you cant make it home, hide the keys somewhere outside of the car where the police cant find them, then hop in the backseat or passenger seat, and insist that you didnt drive there.......just dont forget where you put the keys.....lol

the police cant prove that you drove there , unless they seen you park...and even if you get brought in, there is a weak case at best

This is a great idea! It would be ideal if more people bought them and actually used them!

Hey Wakko, I heard on the local NPR station here in Pensacola, that the Florida legislature is considering a bill that would put a "pink" (of all colors) liscence plate (to add to the already 100+ styles that we have already), with the first three letters stating "DUI".  For those who don't know the scoop, this plate would be issued to those newly convicted, if the bill passes, to those with RESTRICTED driving privileges on a DUI conviction.  And after the term of the sentence, the plate would be switched out with one of a miriad of styles available in the Sunshine State.

My wife, who is a social worker and a moderate Dem, thinks this a really BAD idea.  She feels it is cruel and unjust, as it would set up the individual for easy pickins by any cop on the street to pull that person over just to check out the person who has the pink DUI plate.  She feels it's like profiling.

My God, she sounds like the damn ACLU there for a moment doesn't she?!

I disagree with her.  And not just because of my conservative views.

Why the hell not pass this bill and put this scarlet letter of shame on the person for the time given?  Talk about a GRRRREAT deterrent to drinking and driving.  In my line of work, a DUI is a real career buster in the Air Force- especially with all the alternatives out there; Airmen Against Drunk Driving, the First Shirts Council, the "Wingman" concept, just to name a few.  In the AF, there is no good excuse for getting benind the wheel after drinking.  And the concept of a threat of sporting a damn pink (of all colors) plate on the back of my Ram with the first three letters being DUI, should be sobering enough.  Use alternate methods of getting back home and getting your vehicle the next day after you've sobered up.
