you know, I was going to go to dukefest last year since it was only a few miles from my house. Couldnt go since I had a new baby and the heat wouldnt have been good for him. My wife was working that weekend.  But i totally agree, its nice seeing all the chargers together, but killing a perfectly good one every year makes me sick!

just a thought ..no offence to the 4 door charger dudes , but its no biggie as they are still made !!!
will sign it though it they start jumping the 4 door ones !!  that will do 2 things ...use up the stock pile of unsold new modles & used !! &  give Chrysler  more orders to make them !!!

I am so sick of the whole everything about The Dukes Of Hazzard, it makes my skin crawl now. (even though I loved the show growing up) Destroying classic cars is one of the reasons I'd never sign anything for them. It is one of the reasons I learned to hate the show. 

If they wanna jump a Charger, why dont they find as many of the '80's Omni Chargers as they can, and paint them up, and jump them. Just be sure the name "Shelby" isnt on them

I like the show, and Dukesfest, but I also agree about jumping anymore Chargers.  I thought it was cool in 2003 when my son and I first saw a jump, and the few I saw after that, but anymore........   I didn't attend Dukesfest last year, but I too think the hype was built way too high for it.  I feel they need to take a break for a few years from Dukesfest.  Maybe do it every 5-10 years or so.

there is no need for the jumps to take place anymore, it should just be a good event for duke people to enjoy and meet each other.  

I also know that their are three different types of people on the threads the diehard chargers fans, the chargers fans that could swing ether way and the charger fans that like to enjoy their car for what it is and what kind of enjoyment it can bring them.   I think by having all three perspectives on this forum makes it one the best around for cars and working on cars.    

Maybe the DOH people shouldn't have their own section but have a section for that third group of people that like to enjoy and car and go out of the box with their build.    


that's just my opinion

maybe if the market for a triple green 318 SE went way up and was actually worth the money you would have to spend on those parts would i ever consider bringing it back to original.  Until then my R/T clone with a hemi orange paint job will do greatly.

I think this site handles the GL issues just fine right now.  This site isn't the center place for DOH fans, but it doesn't restrict GL talk either. 



If you don't like hearing about it, you don't have to open the thread & read it.  The number of topic threads devoted to DOH/GL is not usually a very large chunk of the total here.

I agree, plus even as someone who might not necessarily be categorized as a DOH fan, I'm not a hater either so I enjoy reading about it.  Separating opens the door to model year segregation too and that has already been bandied about.  There are devoted sites to specific model years and there are devoted sites to DOH.  I often even question the need for a separate wing forum but not quite enough to endorse getting rid of it.
I'd sooner get rid of the off topic forum than separate the general Charger forum into compartments.  That is just a personal thing though.

yeah true !! keep the DOH & GL stuff on here   although i would never paint a second generation up as a GL , i can appreciate the work you GL guys have put into them !! & enjoy reading & looking  at them as much as you guys  own them
in often go over on the GL sites & have a lookie at whats happening find it really intresting in what car is what from the series ..GL 2 , 3 , 5 etc !!

True.  I have to say that I'm still one of those holdouts though that remembers when everything Mopar was just a dirty little secret and we could get our stuff cheap.  How many other graybeards remember Charger parts going way up in price when the series became popular?


The devil's advocate in me keeps whispering "repro parts, repro parts", so there is that too.
