Anybody here experience an explosion like that?  Whether on the dyno or on the track.  (I don't mean witnessing them, I mean your own engine)

Not quite as catastrophic but I did window the block of my brother's 6 cyl IH pickup. Made about a 3x4 hole in the side with a rod and yet it was still running on 5. :2thumbs:

I've been to a lot of tractor pulls and have seen parts come out through tractor hoods, but never the whole top half of the block.

I had my engine blowing up big time in a powerboat race in UAE. 2 conrods broke off @ 10K rpm! This was a 2,5 litre mercury outboard F1 motor.
Could read the newspaper through the hole it had in the block!!  :rotz:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

When my buddy got his dyno installed 2 years ago, I spent a good part of each Saturday filming dyno runs for him/different groups. One person with a '68 Vette was CONVINCED he was pulling 375 HP, so he kept pushing and tuning and pushing and tuning until BOOM.... He was towed back home. I felt bad for him..

Other than that, I filmed no accidents, explosions of other problems.
