I just bought another 71 Charger parts car. It has a very nice deck lid and a friend of mine needs a deck lid for his 74 Charger.
Will they interchange? If not which year decklids will fit his 74?

Yes, it will fit, but the 71 has little flats on the bottom side for go-wing mounts and the lock area may be a little bit different.

only DIFF could it be the access to the trunk cilinder attaching. 73/74 uses a big nut, and 71/72 uses a spring clip similar to the doors, so 73/74 does have a bigger acces there to insert the nut.

the wing holes makes no diff on trunk itself, beside the HOLES ARE already CUT on 71/72, and 73/74 has simply a blank space there.

Thanks. So as long as I use the early style lock cylinder setup, I'm good to go?
This is the same change that they made on the barracudas.

That should be it.

Since the cylinder hole is different a later cylinder might not work out.

I don't think my buddy will have a problem using the early style cylinder on his 74. They're cheaper anyway.
Besides, he's building a nascar looking car for the street with the race wheels, roll cage, race seats and possibly the Petty paint scheme.
Should be a nice ride.
