I have just installed a set of headers on my Charger.  The only problem I am having is getting the gear selection system working right.  Has anyone ran into this problem?  I am sort of a newbie so please be nice.   :flame:  I read in the instructions that came with the headers that the brackets would need to be flipped 180 degrees and then hooked back up.  That does not work.  Any pictures from anyone else that has done this?  Thanks in advance for the help.

I have headers on my 73 /440/auto. Hooker headers require you flip the braket on the trans 180 deg. . Also rotate the pivot on the frame so the shaft will be straight across and above the headers. Then adjust the lock bolt on the rod coming down from the steering shaft. Takes a little fiddling and beer helps.

I don't have a picture , I put a Quarter stick shifter in since then and it uses a cable.

Hooker headers web sight has instuctions with a diagram that might help.

Thanks for the help.  Last night everything went on perfect.  Had to just step back and take a look at it.  My father in-law who has never worked on a car was very upset when I started altering the way the brackets hooked up.  He said he would not feel safe in the car.  When I cranked it up after that, he changed his mind.  He was baptized last night in the sound of Mopar thunder.  LOL!  :2thumbs:
