I used SRP pistons in my 446. They work fine. They are about 200 grams lighter than stock and have smaller skirts. Normally I love smaller skirts,   however I was just  wondering ,do they last as long as standard pistons? 100,000 miles?

it is my understanding that the shorter the skirt the more the piston rocks in the cylinder - wearing the cylinder at a higher rate    :shruggy:

Honestly, the piston skirt isn't that short as compared to many aftermarket stroker pistons. It should last a very long time with frequent oil changes and good maintenance. No worries....go out and enjoy the car.  :icon_smile_big:

The old, tall pistons had a large distance from the pin to the top, giving a larger mechanical advantage to any rocking forces.  With the pin higher up, the piston is more stable, and newer materials allow tighter piston to cylinder wall clearances, preventing any rocking.
