Another "whats it worth"?

I mentioned in this thread that I was looking into maybe buying a 3rd gen Charger.

The tranny slips going into 3rd gear and will also slip if you hammer down on it but other than that it sounds decent. Any thoughts to what it might be worth?

There are too many little things that are telling me something is looming.  New exhaust but needs tailpipe? Tranny rebuilt but doesn't work correctly, needs body work, needs this or that but this is new or that is new, carpet, etc.....
Sounds like a lot of BS surrounding the real truth. 
You've looked at the car already or talked to the owner i assume?
I hold on my decision on price until further info is provided.
If you have talked to the owner, any idea what he's looking to get. I'm guessing about 3 grand too much by the way the description tries to get around the fact that it needs a little  of everything apparently.
More pictures would be awesome.

I've asked for more pics but he doesn't seem to have any.  I have not seen the car yet. He says he thinks it's worth somewhere in the 7500 range but I don't see it. He's looking for a trade. I have 3 cars that I'd consider trading him worth anywhere from 3500 to 5kish. I haven't offered him anything yet but I'm planning on going to look at the car Sunday.

I'm just looking at a figure to work with. I mentioned to him the cars I had but told him I was going to hold off on any offers until I saw it.

The seller sounds squirrely! I'd be real cautious, sounds like he just wants to unload it.

Guess we nailed that one.  Ok, I was wrong, he was wanting 5k too much .  I think we have this one pegged already.  If it's close(so you can look at it) and you are willing to take on the project to get her roadworthy then I say somewhere between $2200 and $2500(that's top dollar for what I think is really awaiting the new owner underneath the paint, on this rig).            $7500...no way! No more pictures??? Hmmmmm....

His one pic shows nothing. I bet there's 10k+ in body work hiding under that paint.

That's what I'm thinking. The one sided pic that he shows doesn't look bad, But the other side and the underneath may be a basket case.  It's like 40 miles away so he's close enough to go look at it.

I'm betting that at least half of his asking price is sentimental value since his Dad bought it in 79.  I'll get some pics of it when I go look at it tomorrow....
